Best player in the world?

Kevin Sinfield and Michael Vaughan, two of Yorkshires greatest living Lancastrians...

My views of Sinfield are as follows,he is a great Captain,goal kicker and tactical kicker.
But at International level he is someone who has been found out in is chosen posistion which is loose forward,this as meant that he has often moved to standoff. But this can be explained with there being a dearth of standoffs in the British game and also the need to have him in the team for his kicking game.
I was at Huddersfield for the cup semi and I must admit he kicked Wigan to death that day,he went on to do the same thing to other teams at the back end of the season.
But to say that he is a better player than Smith,Thurstan Inglis and Slater etc etc is pushing it a bit.

To add a bit more to the discussion for Leeds fans as well as Wigans is my view that if Sam Tomkins was to play at standoff (in my opinion his best posistion for International Rugby) Kevin would lose out.
I do not think Kevin would get in at standoff the reason being that for the posistion he has no pace for the International game.

Sinfield is a great player. Top top kicking game and leads from the front. I can however probably name at least 5 better 13s in the World let alone players.

*For those who will say he's a 6 then I'll name 10.

Sinfield's peers didn't rate him in the top 3 players in SL in 2012 - I'll go with their judgement over anyone.

This reminds me of the year Ryan Giggs won SPOTY award.

As this award that sir kev has just won is the only reputable and justifiable case as to who the worlds best player is,I would like to say officially that sinfield is the worlds best player,and that the Rhinos are also the best sl side that this country has ever possessed

Gallen I would agree - the rest are not better and in O'Loughlin's case significantly worse unless you were handing out awards for most tackles above the shoulder!!

On the sixes - Thurston yes but the rest especially Inglis who doesn't play the position at any level - get real.

The Aussies don't beat us in the pack, it is in those split second pressurised decisions in which Sir Kev is supposed to excel.

Sinfield a better 6 than Briers, give your head a wobble mate, i think Sinfield is a great player but comparing like for like in that position isn't even close.

Andy Farrell OBE do you mean? No. Im talking about a player winning it that has had a poor season up to the play offs in a VERY average Super League, possibly the worst standard of Super League since it began.

And still Wigan couldn't win anything

Pains me to say it but Sinfield is a very good player no getting away from the fact good club captain,very good kicker no one can say anything other.
Worlds best player not a chance and as much as Im a great fan of Thurston no one has made his side tick or taken them round the field better or put more effort in than Cameron Smith.

Whats that got to do with anything?
