As many have said before this is vintage Nathan Brown talk from 2011 and 2010, I feel every player takes their fair share of dirty and high shots Sam may get more than other's as he's so elusive it frustrates defenders but then the way he runs and his size exaggerates the impact compared to high shorts Mossop may receive so they are more noticeable. I know Wane has a big personal attachment to Sam and I can understand he want's to protect his best asset no one want's to see scummy player's like Carl Ablett attempt to cause serious injuries.

Tomkins does get quite a bit of niggly play against him, that's why I don't blame him for kicking out etc, he should get dealt with when he reacts though.

You're right - he should. But it amuses me that so many posters who are quick to complain about his attitude, his hitting out etc, are equally quick to dismiss the foul play against him, by saying he deserves it or "it's called RL", and so on.

What about protection for the referees when Tomkins bags them for every decision that goes against him????

That time he decked Phl Pentham was uttelry despicable, I agree. An elbow straight under the chin. And what about that kick he planted right in the middle of Richard Silverwood's face; the guy looked like had a stud-pattern tattoo afterwards. What about that time he chucked Ganson through the window of the video ref suite when he dared disallow a try?

It's a brave ref who penalises Wigan these days.

Exactly. I paid something like £20 to watch England v Australia, somebody can remind me of the year.. possibly 2004? England kicked off and Adrian Morley cleaned out an aussie in 7 seconds. The match was over, the test series was over in 7 seconds. That England side could have won that series but becuase of an head high tackle it was ruined. Roll on several years later and its now acceptable to rip Sam Tomkins head off( and Ryan Halls- J Thurston- no penalty try, no red card, no punishment). Wane has made a good point, its illegal, dirty and it has no place in this sport.

Sam like many top players draw attention and Wane needs to consider this before spouting off. Wigan have had more than their fair share of hard men . You say Saints fans have short memory's. Well I remember one terry Newton (rip) dolling out some pretty tough justice to one mr. Long . And your mr. Hock,s no choir boy. We all want our players protected not just Wigan.
