He was not awful in the sense he cost his sides points etc. However, he failed to make much of an impact and you would have expected to have owned his opposite number. Boyd smashed him on at least a couple of occasions.

Boyd smashed him a few times coming off the wing but really Gasnier should of been taking advantage of his opposite number Tonga having an injury to his left shoulder. Everytime he took the ball up he was holding his left arm awkwardly and did well to continue through the whole game. I agree that Idris should come in for the next game. Other than that NSW did quite well and one of the main reasons they lost was a single error by Morris. Uate, Dugan and Jennings looked dangerous throughout and should be in again for the second game. How good was the QSD prop Matthew Scott every one of his hit-ups were strong and took them over the advantage line.

He can still to a job at Origin level, he was just poor today.

Did anyone notice how few penaties compared with a superleague game. Why cant our refs copy the aussies. If stevie and his pal had been commentating they would have been screaming for pnalties every other tackle

Fair play to Ricky Stewart there was a lot of talk about Hayne and Idris missing out but for me Dugan and Jennings were class today.

I though Matt Scott was outstanding, one of the best front row performances I have seen in a long time. Was like watching Webke in his pomp.

Agreed, as much as I wanted and hoped the Blues sneaked it at the end, he definitely deserved to be on the winning side. If I'm honest the QLD backline was pretty ordinary today, 2 of their tries where off bad defensive errors by the blues, especially last try the blues defender was more interested in smashing Lockyer which left the gap wide open for Slater. The Blues tries were by far the better quality, but Scott was outstanding in the forwards for QLD and definitely deserved to be on the winning team.
