Sounds like both teams put a good show on for a friendly match. I would like the mistakes made by Warrington to be cleared up (missing with penalties and knocking on) though. As I said, can't wait for the league fixture come march. Think there is a chance it could either way.

Thought both sides looked rusty but always nice to come away with a win. Wire could have scored quite a few more if they had given King a decent ball, who was their centre on that side? He wants putting down (no pun intended!)

I thought Joel Monaghan looked well over weight and was struggling about the place. He looks like he needs another few weeks of pre season before he's ready for competative action.

Wigan Played warrington off the park both halfs warrington looked tired after the first 20 in each half which isn't good. Morley, atkins and Hodgson played well as usual but I don't think to many players stood out for them wigan played well and looked to have kicked on from last year. Lima was a stand out player played like a very fit feka. Tuson,faz,Micky Mac, Joel, sam , mossop,tommy played outstanding marsh isn't as good a Charnley and looked out of position a few times Joel at worked well top 3 players

I know lot of us including myself had concerns with the hooking role at Wigan this year, so I'm wondering whether I can lay those fears to bed a little.

Watched this as a neutral bulls fan in the Wigan end. Good game for a friendly. Decent pace to the game. Both pretty rusty in attack but wigan clearly stronger. Wire through a lot of ball away trying stupid passes etc. Wigans defence was pretty damn good. Both these teams will challenge for title but have to make Wigan caves. The wigan fans are certainly enjoying being champions. Fair play even if one fan spoiled it a bit by aiming an obviously racist chant towards me.

What happened in both instances?

Just Wigan fans chanting a lot about being champions, which is what it should be. And just some idiot shouting 'town full of p****' right behind me.

A scary prospect in defence as ever and in attack he always buzzes about. His distribution has really improved imo and he'll thrive on being first choice hooker imo.

No concerns from me although to say that I was one of few who didn't have too many when it was announced Riddell was leaving. He was outstaning for us last year but Leuluai and McIlorum are both super players.

Yes it was only a friendly but it was an important one for us as it was the first test of the team without many regulars and the first test of some of our recruits/position changes. The result is meaning-less but how we played isn't. Hence a discussion.

...And theres a 4 page thread on your forum about how you/we played.

I saw this d!ckhead outside the ground when I was queuing to get in. He was singing that and the IRA one, the people he was with were telling him to shut up but he just carried on. No place for that in rugby league or in society in general.

Probably shouldn't bite, but it was only 1 game that you're judging him from, didn't get too many try scoring opportunities, and if the kicks for him to the corner had held in the air for about another second then he would've scored. Nice to have players on each wing that we can kick to in the corner with a real chance to score.

If that was a friendly then bring on the rest of the RL season. As a Leyther I don't go to many SL games but I think when we are away I will be picking up a few Wire and Salford games. Sorry Pies it's too far to travel and both those are virtually on my my to drop the kids off in Leigh.

I do take you point, I am being harsh judging him on just one game. He did fail to impress, but time will tell if it was a wise decision or not.

Good game I thought, felt like a full bloodied contest rather than a friendly. They obviously were targetting Deacon as he was taken out at least 4 times after he'd kicked/passed the ball.

Sam Tomkins looks as sharp as ever, thought the poor 4 Nations Campaign may have affected his confidence, but not at all.

Joel looks solicd at centre, I expect him to play here against Saints, with Carmont partnering him & Goulding & Charnley on the wings.

Lima is a machine. I was sat on the sidelines near the tunnel, and whenever he came off he was bouncing around laughing joking, running up and down the touchline, he just never stops! He's like Feka but fuelled by Energiser, he just goes on and on and on.

Excited for the season even more now. Might even have a fiver on Lima for Man of Steel!

If Karl Pryce had two tries scored on his wing against a "rookie" and failed to have a run twice when given a clear overlap would he have been given some "stick" on here?
