To be fair I didn't think Joel was a dirty player but after last weeks game I don't know.

Oh give over, seriously, it's pathetic, as has been said several times but Wire fans conveniantly ignore, Wire gave as good as they got, there was one bad thing by Joel, how about high/late shots from your lot. Move on really.

| Joel wasnt sure that Myler grounded the ball as he was on his back and the rough drop was to dislodge the ball. He does however pat him on the chest to say good try. Joel is not a dirty player.

| Since 1998 the RFL disaplinary seems to have got tough on Wigan. Cassidy got 6 matches for a high elbow on Morley and 6 matches was never heard of before then This season Warrington were due to play Wigan and had 2 players guilty of high tackles but yet beacuse they were playing Wigan they appealed and just got a fine! Coley got sent off and got a two week ban! in the Hull v Hull KR game the game had a violent 26 man brall yet the RFL think that a brawl is acceptable nobody up for disaplinary! just look at the facts this season when a Wigan player is up it seems there in for it and when a player from another club they seem to get a maximum of 1 game Wigan seem to be microscoped every gamewith Joel Tomkins now facing the disaplinary commitee,

| Seem to recall the Cassidy one was retribution for McCormack being laid out after a late tackle, totally ignored by Cummins not even a penalty.

That's true - happened in 1st minute. Retribution because the ref failed to punish the first offender!
If Silverwood had sinbinned a Warrington player as he should have done when there were 4/5 high shots/late challenges within the first 20 minutes, Joel may not have gone in late on Myler.
Have just watched the highlights on the Super League show - I don't think it was too bad; it was late but seems more of an arm/elbow to the top of Myler's chest rather than his head and Myler certainly jumps up ok. He was more stunned from the collision with Roberts/the post which was why he delayed putting the ball down.
What was most interesting was how Thaler sinbinned Griffin for a "late challenge" on the kicker Mcguire. Must have been early as first try hadn't been scored. Immediate yellow card - even though it was less late a challenge than the 2 offences against Leuluai and Sam when kicking. If only Thaler had been ref on Friday!! Having said that, he awarded David Hodgson a try from a kick which wasn't - DH didn't even claim it, but made up for it by allowing Leeds's final try from a pass over a yard forward!
All we ask for is consistency - and if "incorrect decisions/injustices" do even themselves out over the course of a season, then Wigan are "Quids in" as we are due some dodgy tries being awarded/knock ons being ignored and opposition players being harshly sinbinned/banned etc!!

| This is what hapens when a referee fails enforce the laws of the game on a team and lets them get away with murder. Somebody on the other team gets mighty ed off and does something stupid. Thats what i reckon ed him off into to doing it because he usually only gives penalties away for daft stuff like holding down and messing at the PTB, he isnt usually dirty at all.
It depends on what rulebook the bigwigs have with them when they decide his fate. If its the usual anti Wigan one then he will definatley get banned.

So why did the rfl charge two players from the team you play next.

After the brawls, they could have had far more than 2 facing disciplinary charges - 2 from each club is an equitable token gesture.
I agree with Mr Frisk - why were Morley and Carvell "let off" for horrendous high challenges in the game at the beginning of the season when they were going to play Wigan the following week?
In fact, can you tell me whether Morley has been suspended (a) since he came to Warrington and (b) since Tony Smith came to Warrington. Also, have any Warrington players been suspended at all this season?
In addition, if you saw highlights of the Leeds V Huddersfield game, you will have seen Griffin sinbinned by Thaler for a late challenge on the kicker Mcguire. Would Warrington fans agree that the challenges on Leuluai and Tomkins as they kicked the ball in the first 20 minutes were more late than Griffin's?

| needs to claim he couldn't see the ball being grounded and he might get away with appealing the one match ban he'll probably be given. Have to agree on the comments about late/ high challenges but Lulu and Sam get taken out on a weekly basis and I never see it penalised nevermind a player getting sinbinned for it against Wigan. The worst example I've seen was at Leeds in the cup when Liam Farrell was sinbinned for a marginal one but Jamie Peacock did it high and late on Leuluai after a kick from about 30m out in the first half but it was to the far right of the picture on sky so I don't think too many will have even noticed it and as usual neither the ref nor the touch judge (5 or 6 metres away) decided it wasn't worthy of a penalty. If anyone's still got the match I THINK it was maybe a minute before Coley's tackle which when I was at the game looked like a really good solid tackle to the midriff like you see in the NRL week in week out and even on Sky it needed to be shown in slow motion to make it look like there was anything in it. But maybe I'm just biased and think that its a bloody disgrace that Peacock's two attempts at taking Sam's head off weren't even worthy of a mention on the RFL site and kicking players in the face is deemed accidental.
To be honest I thought the Wire game was fair enough on the whole and we should work on attacking the ball with the shoulders like they do. Some of the grapple tackling and facials were a bit much at times and the tactic of props turning their hips into the kickers' kidneys needs to be stopped as it was happening so frequently it was clearly coached. When this goes on all the time unpunished and then we get penalised for grapple tackling its a bit annoying but such is life I think we need to start muscling up a bit ourselves or we'll continue to be beaten by inferior teams bereft of ideas from within the gp book of acceptable tactics. I'd rather our game be refereed Origin style where you basically have to strangle someone with your bootlaces before you get a yellow card, at least its consistent.
Now how any Wire fan can accuse Joel of being dirty is beyond me with narky little girls like Bridge and Briers, Mathers (who I saw at Hull throw himself on the floor and roll around like a football player despite the fact that nobody was anywhere near him yet he was given a penalty which totally changed the momentum of the game) and Garreth Carvell and Adrian Morley who think making a tackle means running at someone with your forearm raised so you can 'protect yourself'. Here endeth my rant for the hour.

There were no penalties for late hits on kickers on Friday so I don't know what you are going on about.

That's the point I was trying to make - Warrington players ( 1 Morley, the other I think was Carvell) challenged Leulai and Sam late after they had kicked. These challenges were more late, in my opinion, than Griffin's, for which he got sinbinned by Thaler. Silverwood did not penalise the Warrington players - if he had, it would have been an automatic sinbinning as it would have been deemed to be a late challenge on the kicker. It all depends on the subjective interpretation by the ref on what is a late challenge. That's why Wigan fans were so incensed after Farrell was sinbinned at Leeds and no opposition players have been sinbinned for committing similar if not worse offences.

Not always, they do get things wrong, i'm not saying Joels shouldn't be up there but so should both of those, you can say we're being bias etc. but you're only doing the same thing, if we'd have given out either of those tackles you'd want them up there.

Sorry, Mikey, but I don't understand what you are trying to say. Joel's challenge was late and it may be justified to have him before the Disciplinary Committee. The point we have been trying to make on this and other threads is that Morley ( and Carvell) could and should have been sinbinned for their late challenges on kickers ( Sam and Leuluai), notwithstanding the fact someone from Warrington should have been sinbinned for persistent high shots/late challenges ( at least 5 in the first 20 minutes).
Can you answer these questions - has Morley been suspended since Tony Smith came to Warrington? Have any Warrington players been suspended this season?

| Morley hasn't been suspended since Smith came to Warrington and we haven't had a player suspended this season, not sure what your trying to get at?. The late tackles on Leulaui by Louis Anderson and Carvell on Tomkins on Friday were delt with on the pitch, the ones by Morley wasn't, simpley because there was nothing in it. Didn't recall any high tackles which wern't punished, the only one i can remember was by Atkins on Goulding, straight from the restart after the Riddell try, which was given as a penalty.
