i wouldn't want higham playing for warriors ever again.
Riddell has been a massive disappointment for most, if not all, wigna fans this year, and yet he's still a MASSIVE improvement on one trick micky.
As for mathers, he was absolutely shocking for us, just didnt suit wigan and needed a change. I think he'll come good under tony smith, but he was atrocious for us.

| Micky wasn't that bad, I think some Wigan fans go OTT when they criticize Micky. Every time he's brought up it's all 'one trick Mick with his persistent penalties', but as a Wire fan he's given us what we've lacked at times, that being pace around the ruck and speed out of dummy half. Even if you don't rate him, you have to admit we're a better side with him in, and even if you do have 'higher standards' than us, to just completely write him off like most of you do is harsh and unfair, IMO.
I thought tonight Morley and Carvell were immense, it wasn't a surprise to see Briers show up after they layed out the platform for him. Mathers played well, as was highlighted by the commentators, his persitent geeing up of his teammates, and determination throughout the second half shown and he contributed well to what was a very good comeback.
I look forward to next week, you've never beaten us at the HJ competitively, and I always feel confident going into a game against Wigan. I think we've come on leaps and bounds under Smith and we're in a bit of a false position in the league, I think the game will be a cracker but your forwards will really have to perform, as our front row is as good as any in SL, I think.

Carvell played very well i thought, as did briers (wierdly).
Higham was very poor for wigan, personally i feel he contributed a lot to the lack of power from our forwards with his cr@p distribution. Riddell is the complete opposite to higham, just good distribution and no running, and look how much better our forwards are performing this year.

From an outsiders POV, I never watched Wigan a lot, but when I did I often thought he came under harsh criticism from your support. No player's perfect and Micky has his flaws. Clarke is a little similar with our fans, whilst he'll never be a world beater, he gets one with his job and he does it well, yet as soon as he cocks up he's often the first target to be shot down. But with Higham, I always thought he worked hard and gave his all, it seems you're always guaranteed pace and work rate with him, although he is error-prone, too. But even so, I think your fans don't give him enough respect, but maybe there are reasons for this that I never known due to not watching him every week.
But yeah, I've not managed to see half as much RL as I would like to have this year, so I've not seen Riddell play, but it seems that everybody slates his weight and lack of effort, I can't comment if he's been good or not but if you say he has then good for you, it just baffles me after every game we play we get Wigan fans with the same old 'one trick Mick' comments.

No-one ever questioned highams work rate at all, gives 100% every game. But he distribution was so poor, didnt give our forwards any platform whatsoever. Granted he started to step it up when he was leaving, but not good enough.
Riddell has been a massive dissapointed, no ones denying that, but he's allowing our forwards to get much better ball and hence our props are playing much better this year. Riddell is fat, can't rely deny that (well), but it shows how poorl we rated higham that we got in a hooker who is the complete opposite to him.

Fair enough, well it seems both sides got a pretty decent deal. Giving our forwards the platform hasn't been a problem for us this year, Clarke has done it well and Micky has injected that pace at the correct times. I'm not sure if all of our fans do it, but even when Micky has a good game we seem to get grief off your lot every week. From what it seems, though, Riddell is earning quite a bit, and taking up a quota spot? Forget the losing Higham part; has he been worth it?
