The former results in four (or six) points. The latter is six tackles on defence.

We were a tad lucky, but i'll take the 2 points. Surprised Stains aren't making more of Wheeler getting taken out after his kick. Big turning point IMO.

If the ball is headed forward then it's a knock on, so it was the correct decision as far as I'm aware. It's the forward pass for the final try in Cardiff which has now been evened out.

If we're going back THAT far we'll need a pen and paper. There were several dubious decisions in that game.

Credit where credit is due. You were very good ten minutes before half time and twenty minutes after. The rest was Saints' game. You won because we were down to bare bones injury-wise and gave you three gilt-edged chances with seven minutes to go (and you were also the beneficiary of a forward pass resulting in a try).

I don't have anything to "weep" about. I thought we were the better side.

But you lost...

The ball steal that never was, and the head ball lead to two tries both come to mind

Amazing game, that is what RL is all about, sunshine, great atmosphere, well behaved fans and a great result

How many points do you get for being the better side?

Look simple as wigan won saints were offside all game and got away with it so I think a forward try pass is evened out by the fact that you should have given a penalty away during every single one of our sets.

So stop the sour grapes and celebrate the brilliant advert for RL that it was!

I thought we were very lucky today and overall it was a poor performance but it is still very nice to win



Saints had a lot of players missing and sufferered bad injuries during the game such as Weeler going off, a player I always thought was overated but he was absolutely fantastic today before his injury. These injuries turned the match and Saints were well on top prior to this. There is definately much to work on from a Wigan point of view and I thought our forwards would have been a lot more dominant considering the injuries that Saints had. Our pack has definately been a weakness so far this season. Also our defence on the right with Tomkins and Charnley looked particularly weak.

Both sides had ball calls made against them. But only one of such was a call on a try-scoring act. You can't return from such. A ball-steal or Deacon's mistake still give the defence chance to atone.

It seems "We were lucky" are the three hardest words to say. And yet I'm accused of not being magnanimous.

You're confusing my honest assessment of Saints' performance with my knowledge of the rules of the game. But I realise this is a difficult concept to grasp.

Saints had 43 minutes in which to return from that call and build up a match winning lead. If you don't build a lead that can win you a game and don't defend well enough to keep the opposition out then you don't deserve to win the game.

The dictionary definition of "sour grapes" is "disparagement of something that is unattainable". From this, it is clear that complaining about losing is sour grapes; it is not possible to win a game after the final whistle has sounded.

Sour grapes always casts the perpetrator in a bad light. It is never desirable. It is usually regretted soon afterwards. It always makes the winners feel superior, being confirmation of the losers' hurt.

Oh, hold on, it was the other side that did it, not Saints.

You can still make a tackle after a ball has been thrown forward you know! The simple fact is you didn't have the defenders in the right positions to make the tackle. Stop grasping at straws and have some dignity in defeat. It wouldn't hurt you to take a leaf out of Foster's book. Class act that lad. Pity I can't say the same for you.
