People were going mad but the ones he missed were hard kicks

Every kick he missed was from out wide, however he did miss too many regardless of how wide they were.

His missed kicks were all from out wide. And he is striking the ball really well and not missing by very much.

In my opinion only Danny Tickle is better than Pat.

I disagree, Richards isn't even the best goal kicker at the club IMO

Deacon probably is but he can't get in the team in front of Tommy, Sam or Piggy.

Pat is probably kicking at over 80% anyway and scorong tries for fun.

I wouldn't have Deacon in the team, I'm just saying Pat Richards isn't the best kicker at the club.

Pat's problem isn't ability but consistency, he's shown he can be superb goal kicker, kicking them from all over the place, yet for some reason since going to the World Cup with Ireland he's lacked the consistency he had before.

Perhaps Pat would benefit from having a kicking coach brought in to refine his technique and get to the bottom of why he blows so hot and cold when kicking goals.

Get rid of him.

Problem is, it's our wingers scoring all the tries, which means they're mostly out wide. We need to go back to the "up-the-middle" stuff, so that what few tries we score are easier conversions...


(or, of course, keep scoring enough tries that the goals don't matter...)

Some of his misses were from eminently kickable positions. His style needs to change. He seems to be putting far too much power into his kicks at the expense of a more careful aim. Plus his kicks seems to be curving more compared to when he was at his most succesful period when the kicks were more arrowlike.

Yeah, he has no sole.

After Pat we have these choices:

Roberts, Phelps, Riddell, Deacon and even Leuluai.

Take your pick.

Riddell. If we are to miss the goals at least he can entertain the crowd while he does so..........

Not the best but it's not amongst the worst. He's having a lot more attempts.

And the only game we have lost was to a goalkick by the second worst kickers in Superleague.

TBF a lot of it is down to practice. If your not regulary then it has a massive effect on your talents

Take Furner for example I'm sure he was a top notch kicker in the NRL wasn't he but he wasn't that good when he had 2 stand in for Faz.

Back to the topic Pat does need to improve his consistency but it's not a major worry at the moment. He'll have a good day on Friday as he always does after a bad week
