Not really - seeing WADA are the world organisation regarding drugs in sport I think it's pretty reasonable to compare what would have happened. Cunningham escaped because at that time we hadn't signed up to their code when a lot of other sports had. Given the fact we did not that long after shows how lucky he was.

Tomkins and Coley both got what they deserved - if they cant take it, dont dish it out.

As it happens, I didnt see either player complaining too much about getting a smack - they both knew they deserved it and had it coming.

Coley will have known when he belted Gilmour that he was going to get it back the next time he took the ball in - which is why he looked like he was playing full back for a few minutes after. At least he stayed on the field, unlike Ryan Bailey earlier in the year.

TBF while it was not illegal if you lot don't think that Tompkins knew what he could cause by going in the way he did on the knee joint, then you are all very innocently minded.

Don't get me wrong, i really respect the player he is going to be & I'm not saying he aimed to end his career, but he went in hard on a joint knowing it could take him out the game and while maybe not illegal its not particularly "clean" its very similar to JJB does when he tries the chicken wing - but the RFL try to put a stop to that one.

Cunningham is no angel, but neither for example was Farrell or Sculthorpe. Senior and your current captain both love a cheap shot and there are many more the same or worse, all of these had or still have pretty clean records at the end of their respective careers.

Its a physical game, emotions run very high, there is very little deliberate attempt to injure which is good. Unfortunately its something all teams will have problems with both for & against for the forseeable future unless the RFL has a major clampdown.

Like I said, either the RFL operated under WADA rules, and WADA therefore accepted the punishment handed down to Cunningham, or the RFL were not operating under WADA rules and your quotations from their guidelines are irrelevent as to whether Cunningham "got away with it".

It's like arguing that someone who shoulder charges another player without punishment is lucky and has "got away with it" provided the RFL ban shoulder charges at some point in the future. After all, a lot of other sports have banned shoulder charges or never allowed them in the first place.
