| I suspect Warrington fans will be buying tickets because they expect a big win against a side with very poor form. I wonder if the PR would have been any different had the form been reversed and we were going well and they we struggling?

This isn't true...Wire are buying tickets because of the expectation and investment in our club... Wigan being in poor for is just circumstance. Would you be saying if Wigan was in good form we'd all stay at home for this game?

It’s not unreasonable to assume that our garbage form would lead to increased ticket sales is it? Some Wolves will be smelling blood for sure.

Nope, we would have done it just the same, and if lenaghan and radlinski were a bit more receptive we would have done a few more things.
After this, we'll move onto saints.
just to say, a mate of mine attended a get together with a group that meets regularly with karl fitzpatrick, the reason behind this is that he concerned with the tv deal coming up in a few years, at the moment, he doesn't think we'd get the same money if any at all from Sky, so our board this year decided we were going to try and help pull superleague up by its bootstraps, starting with ourselves, hopefully others will follow.
Don't forget, us and wigan are elstone's blue eyed boys

Give over! If your form was poor and ours was good you’d attract less fans to the game for sure. My point was about the marketing. I’m not sure the ludicrous ‘bad blood’ branding would have been used by Warrington if you expected a good hiding. The only bad blood is in Warrington’s imagination. There’s no bad blood from the most successful club in the world against a team who haven’t been champions since TV was in black and white.

| Quote ="Bigredwarrior"I don’t subscribe to the ‘vote with your feet’ mentality at all. If attendances keep dropping it’s hardly going to motivate the chairman to splash out more than he has to is it? I still think he’s a Wigan fan as well as a businessman and he wants the best for the club. I still trust him to run the club well and I have enough faith in him and the current squad to turn this season around. If players see crowds dwindling week on week it’s not going to improve their confidence. We talk about supporting the club through thick and thin and it seems some of our fans will only support a winning team. I find it quite sad at times.'"
Tricky one. I wake up at 4am every day to go to work. I sometimes work about 20 days on the spin doing that and am absolutely flogged every day. Sometimes i make sacrifices to go and watch rugby. Do without a bit less food etc. I consider that a huge commitment from myself so i can have a pint when i am there etc and help pay the wages of the players and staff. If they aren't giving me value for money i don't see why i should make those sacrifices. We have (as said) been on the decline for a few years and seen hardly and re-investment for the top players leaving. 1 or 2 maybe. If i was being entertained yet still being beat it wouldn't be as bad but when we are clearly not trying then what is the point? I might as well just give my money to a homeless person or something. If they want bums on seats they need to earn it, just like each and every one of has to do every day at work. Maybe they can entice more fans from London and Australia in the (home) fixtures we squandered to fill the void.
And no i am not going either Because it's pretty obvious what is going to happen. Shoot me down and burn me to the ground if i am wrong. I would love to be wrong. But i won't be will i? And to be honest, i am sick of dodging missiles when i go to Warrington. Their fans seem to have an obsession with trying to maim the opposition fans.

Say what keyboard warrior? I made a point about the bad blood marketing and you responded to it.
This is the level you’ve brought to our board. Congratulations on being the single most pointless cretin on here.

To each their own mate and your point is valid. I’ve got 3 lads and it works out quite expensive when we all go to the game. The cost of tickets, plus the inevitable hot dogs etc soon mounts up.
I go when I can, shifts permitting but I don’t let form of the team put me off. If I can go, I’ll go regardless of the names on the team sheet or the form of the club. I suppose my point was that we want the team to perform and I think they’re more likely to do so with a big crowd cheering them on. Obviously not a proven fact, just my spin on it.

| FWIW I don't buy the "me not going will force IL to spend" argument either. I just don't feel motivated to go tonight, but I shall still be at every home game and a fair few away ones too.
Actually I quite like the idea of watching it down the pub; that hardly ever happens, usually I am either at a game, or at home listening on Wish FM.

| God this game is boring.
Also why can we not stop offloads this year, even with 3 players in a tackle? It’s basic stuff.

In that case if he is not up to the job why select Escare? Gildart is a centre why change the team around?

Probably a case of trying to find a position for him because he knows he offers something. I’d have considered Hankinson on the wing, always looked solid under a high ball and strong defensively.
Don’t get me wrong, I like Morgan a lot and want to see him in the team. I just don’t know where and it’s not winger for me.

| I thought Shorrocks did very well when he came on. It was noticeable how he and TO pushed us forward more at the orb than Powell does. A bit of zip can be useful.
