At schoolboy/junior level, 9. Hansen's a Salford lad and Mossop's from Whitehaven. Deacon's a Wigan lad, too, but I didn't count him.

Does that really matter? The majority of the youngsters are from the Wigan area but if the club are sending scouts to Cumbria/Yorkshire etc and finding talented youngsters it can only be a good thing. We could just sign a dozen has beens and have a crap youth team instead.

Stefan Marsh wasn't impressive imo, he made one break.

I and every Wigan fan I spoke to after the game had a smile on their face and was happy with what the lads produced tonight, considering last Sunday's physical game and the injuries we've got. I'm 100% happy with what we're being treated to as fans in 2010 and now in 2011.

Its just my opinion which is what these forums are for...

But yes I was disappointed. In our kicking game, our goal line defence, our discipline (again) and our lack of being able to take the game by the scruff of the neck and just put Salford to bed, they were just as bad as us tonight. The amount of dropped ball from them was unbelievable. Yeah we had a tough game on Sunday but so what? We are fitter than i've ever known a Wigan team to be so we should be able to cope easily with a 5 day turn around against Salford! We have tough games every year on a good friday and then back it up just two or 3 days later with good performances on the easter monday/tuesday, so this WCC hangover is a rubbish excuse for me. Fair enough if this was another tough game against Saints or Wire but Salford are crap!

Are you the type who just sits there and complains all the match? The only part I agree with you on is our kicking game wasn't the best, but to say your only positive was Marsh's performance is a bit way off imo.

My point about Stefan as i've posted elsewhere is that he looked much improved from what i've seen of him before.

For the record I was never a fan of Feka as I've said on here before, but I can see why people are. If they want to chant for him then it doesn't bother me in the slightest, what does is people who whinge and complain and find fault in a 32-16 away win.

Well im not one to paper over a crack mate, I was not impressed with us today. Results dont tell the full story of any match and you know it. That doesnt go to say I think we are rubbish, I have no doubts that we will follow this up with a great performance next week.

Didn't think tonight was our best performance we have given but I didn't expect us to be class after all last week would have taken a hell of alot out of us!

Marsh for me was dissapointing, I thought Salford Targeted him and we seemed shakey down his side all night. He also doesn't seem to have the physical presence that charnley has! Charnley seems to be thriving with confidence and I would love to see him given a run at centre!

We where good upfront again tonight and mossop seems to have found his form from the start of last season which is good to see.

I know we all have high hopes for him. Well I do.

All we needed was a win and we got it, I was certain we would as this team under Maguire has bouncebackability in buckets. The great thing now is that we have 9 days untill our next game which is also at home, I am very confident of a win.

Put it this way if Man Utd wern't around and Salford were the only major sporting team in a city of 270000 we'd have a club easily the size of Wigan and Leeds, look at it this way when kids choose a sport in Salford its always Football and the team they want to play for is Utd and they are the team they will follow, where as in Wigan kids are brought up on rugby and want to play for the warriors and again they will be the team they support. We will never have that pool of youngsters you have but we still try our best with bringing youngsters through.
Tbh i'll let Wigan fans have their cocky arrogance i can't say im not the same sometimes when watching Utd kicking teams s like Wigan.

As for Kids choosing football in Salford, so what? Theres nothing stopping you looking for talent elsewhere like we do, look at our academy products today, half of them Wiganers, but others from all over the country such as Cumbria (mossop) Leeds (mcilorum) etc. We've even got a young centre in the u20s from London.
