Doms a good player but doesn't have the impact Ben did going forward, I think doms game is a little more disciplined but overall given the choice I would opt for Ben. I'm surprised Wigan have let him go, he's got so much talent and just needs a steady run, great feet for a prop too. Is Stefan marsh contracted for next year?

How are Mellor and Tomkins looking? I have big hopes for those two.

Mellor also looks more and more like Sam Tomkins as a player week in week out too, very elusive and last week spotted a gap going back where the ball came about 20 yards away yet still went through and scored under the sticks.

Logan started on fire but slowed a little, very tricky around the play the ball and manages to keep opposition guessing about where he us going. Both have very bright futures!

VM has Crosby spot on really! Puts in a lot of hard graft, very few errors in attack or defence and runs hard and gets some tries through that!

We can't keep them all and although it's a shame he's leaving, he'll do well at Widnes and has a lot of potential.

Before anybody ridicules the club for ''letting him go'' it will most likely have been a scenario where Widnes can afford to pay fist team wages and we're only in a position to offer him lesser wages due to fact the competition for his position is too good for him to nail down a place within the first team squad.

Simple as that. It is what it is.

Thought he looked very strong for Castleford and its just a pitty that he probably cost them a place in the final with one mistake.

An excellant signing for Widnes though and their recruitment is shaping up nicely so far.

Looked over weight earlier in the year, move to Cas was a good one and can only improve with a first team spot. The Widnes fans I work with seem pleased enough

Ben Davies was great at Widnes and has great footwork and spin in a tackle.Dom Crosby has been steady but I like Mellor.Just hope we can be competitve next year.As long as we beat Wire I be happy.

i think the writing was on the wall for him soon as ocarroll (i cant remember how to spell his name!) was on the come back,
they seem like very similar players to me, but that being said ive only seen davies play at cas and hes doing a great job, solid, just nothing flashy.

Terry O'Connor was similarly impressed with Stuart Jones at Wigan and couldn't believe they let him go. At the time he was probably right about Jones; Davies could be anything if he can focus on the job.

IMHO Its time they scapped the under 20s and revert back to the "A" teams play in championship that way clubs can hold on to players longer.Upgrade Orrell and play there.The "A" teams would then have their own salary cap .A stepping stone to first team rugby.First team squad could play in the "A" team but with a ceiling on wages for when they play "A" team rugby.The benefits of this would be the players getting more experience playing against open age teams put them selves in the shop window like Ben Davies could command a better deal at another club like he has now with Widnes.Some players only mature late so would give them more time to play better rugy.
