| Dennis Moran is one of the biggest scapegoats Wigan has had in the SL era but I do feel that the criticism he received should of be directed to the coaching staff at the time and not just the player in question.
Lets not forget that Moran was a wonderful player at London, a terrific support player who knew his way to the try line and a player who was recommended to Wigan by the player he replaced - Adrian Lam, who has gone on record as saying that Moran was one of the most gifted player he has played against in SL.

Jonkers yes - but actually thought Liam Botham was a pretty decent player – Never set the world alight and was not normal Wigan standard but he did a massive and underrated job in just doing the basics right at a time we were crying out for it, in the same way Nathan Macavoy did - Both did a lot of unnoticed work imo which helped massively drag us out of the mess we were in! Still baffling to think of some of the signings that season though…makes you question whether millward was actually trying to see us down as saints fans joked about!
For the record IMO the worst wigan team I have watched would be as follows;
1. Doc Murray
2. Desi Williams
3. Jamie Ainscough
4. Paul Koloi
5. Wes Davies
6. Greg Florimo
7. Denis Moran
8. Lee Hanson
9. Mark Reber
10. Jordan James
11. Oliver Wilkes
12. Stuart Lester
13. Tim Jonkers
--------------------------
14. Ricky Bibey
15. Richie Mathers
16. Karl Pryce
17. Shem Tatupu
Thank god they never all got to play together!!

| how can anyone slag Jordan James off? in the small amount of games he played he scored more tries than some of our untouchables who played in those games, he gave his all, he might not have been top class but you couldn't fault his commitment

I really liked Jordan James, and he seemed to love playing for Wigan in the short spell that he did.

I agree. Shame we didn't keep him on because he always did a solid job and had a knack of scoring a few tries too!

| Vaealiki should be exempt for 2 reasons;
1 Mugging Paul Wellens
2 Setting up Tommy's try in the playoffs at Bradford after Trent's insane pass

| Moran would have scored a bagful of tries if he played inthe current team or playedwith Trent Barrett.
I forgot about some of the names that have been mentioned and in the most wasn't it Milward who brought them into the club? I completely forgot about McDonald wasn'the 6 foot 7 but couldn't use his size or (lack of) strength? Botham never got started before his neck injury.
How many GF & CC medals did Bibey win? Last I knew of him he was larging it up trying to play for Wakey in 2007 but couln't get into the first team as Danny Sculthorpe kept him out of the team even though he was injured!

| Quote ="Ovavoo"This is a cr*p post and thread. Any one who's been deemed good enough to play even one game for Wigan shouldn't be slagged off on a Wigan forum. There are plenty of other forums who do that job week in week out. Doc Murray may not have been the right fit for Wigan but I'd venture to guess that he was a far better player than most people who slag him off.'"
Just what I was thinking. I wish I had been good enough to play for Wigan. All I am good enough for is to play 'Drop a shirt size' tick and pass, and that's finished . If I'd played for Wigan my name would appear on these posts. It would be cruel reading for all the players mentioned.

| Worst players got to be Karl Pryce by a country mile, people ssaying Jordan James, Wwilkes and Jonkers but they had more passion and effort in their little finger than Pryce had in his whole body.
I can accept lack of skills and talent but cant accept lack of effort and heart.

| I have not read through the entire list and if these players appear I apologies. For me the worst of all must be Steve Breheny, bought from Rochdale for £400 and Wigan were robbed. Closely followed by "Jinking" Jimmy Fairhurst. Anyone who attended the Lancashire Cup Final versus Wire at Knowlsley Rd in the early Eighties must know that particular Wigan team was one of the poorest sides ever to represent greatest club in the world

Seu Seu creamed McDermott in that fight, knocked his glass eye out.
Sculthorpe was devestating at times but I don't really think he was ever a fit enough player to play at the top level.
McDonald was just one of a few terrible signings at that time.
