Not too fussed and I thought I would be. You could tell from the kick off it just wasn't going to be our day and further on in the game with the plays we failed to execute. Warrington played well and I wasn't expecting us to win, but we had a good 2 or 3 chances which would have made the game alot more respectable.

One of the stats I seen that tells the whole story is that Warrington had 3 times more PTB than us in the opposition half. We are never going to win a game with stats like that. Move on, forget about it and bring on next week and finish the season sticking 60+ on Crusaders

Maybe today but then after us having an intense 6 weeks and wire having rest after rest maybe we should have been. They took advantage of a Wigan sides errors and silly penalties as well as getting a fair portion of luck and from our point of view they didn't really show anything to make us more nervy about them then we were before.

Wire are class as are Wigan and one of the 2 sides will win the Grand final. I'm happy to be in a 50/50 shoot out and believe me it's that equal.

Face it you got dicked. Simple as. No cup hangover. You're just not as good as Warrington. You know, that small lil team that doesn't buy the league or cheat to beat relegation. people have talked about this 'cup hangover' for a few seasons... we at wire have certainly used it over the last few seasons as a bit of an excuse.

today showed that there is a little truth in it.... we had 2 weeks to prepare and you won the cup at wembley last week.

even though we had a few key players missing, we still did a job on you....you looked flat and lethargic for large portions of today's game.... we all know that should the GF be wire v wigan it will be alot closer than today.

What makes you think you aren't going to bottle it again? I can't wait until you pick Huddersfield or someone in the club call and they batter you again.

Don't use common sense, his theory that the all-conquering (sic) Wire that swept away the best team Wigan have ever put out on a field makes much more sense.

For once Phil Clarke hit the nail on the head.....these 2 sides are very evenly matched, whenever they meet it will be an even money match-up.

Interestingly, there has yet to be an encounter this year where both have been at their best against each other....For the good of the game, let's hope it happens at Old Trafford, because we will have a true classic on our hands if it does.

After watching the game on SKY two of Warringtons tries were flukey but still had to put themselves in that position to score the try. Wigan didn't get the rub of the green with a few calls but that's the way the game goes. Warrington ran hard and with intent an extra week off probably allowed them to do that.

Always hard to back up after Wembley, but a loss will only do Wigan the world of good because it will be a long time before Maguire will want to see that again.

Nothing to worry about at all.

for me this was a really strange game. defense won the game for wire and their attack with ball in hand didnt worry me. Their kicking game is always dangerous close to our line cause us major problems and that is always Wires big threat. Briers is the best in the game at this. But that first half was bizarre. Arguably a push on Charnley, the bounce off Tommys hip for the try, hansens mind fart dropping the ball on a drive, 18-0 game over but for me the damage was around the ruck, we couldnt slow it down, monaghan was superb at hooker but for me the MOM was Carvell. The best British prop in the league this year and i hope it carries that in the 4 nations. Cup hangover ???? maybe but hands up, we went for it and it wasnt our day. i really dont think we'll see a one sided game again this year. if it is the grand final both teams will be on the ball. Will Wire freeze again... i dont think so this season. but time will tell !!!!

Just adding onto my earlier post....Is it actually possible for both sides to be at their best in the same game??

Surely for one side to be 100%, part of their job would be to cancel out the other side's threat (something that has happened in all 3 encounters this season)?

I think that while Wigan may have had a slight Cup final hangover, it shouldn't detract from the effort Wire put in to stop Wigan playing, similar to what happened at the DW earlier in the season.....Also Wigan did similar to Wire in the Cup.

Using one of the old phrases, its very much an arm wrestle when you get 2 evenly matched teams, and part of the ultimate triumph will be the victor's succeeding in making their opponent look not quite at their best.
