planning was granted as dual purpose, both sports are played their and both teams colours are in the seasts...

The stadium was built for the use of both clubs. And that's the legality of it. It's not a fantasy.

There is no rule saying that Wigan cannot play there 24 hours prior to Latics playing there.

The uncertainty was down to one man being awkward. It took a couple of days before he would confront the reality of the situation.

Hence, the Wigan game went ahead as planned.

It will likely be the same outcome next time such a 'clash' arises.

2 cracking semi finals in store and i think that any of the last 4 could get to the final and produce a great final,i'm not bothered at all where our semi against wigan is played as it clearly has no effect on the result,it's only a piece of grass

A pitch does make a difference, not the grass itself, or in Leeds case the sand but the dimensions are different.

Well I enjoyed the Challenge Cup last season, because we were written off, and in that game and the play-offs following, we proved how stupid that was

. It was the catalyst for our season, so I don't think we did too badly out of it

If we had the choice, Leeds would have been the pick. Lowest ranked team at the moment, but we will have to perform better then we did v Saints.

Why not play it at Salford

Leeds v Wigan, the 2 clubs with the greatest attendances over the last few years......... can see this as being one of the best attended semis for a few years

As things are, you are the lowest ranked contenders remaining in the competition. The only way to change that is to start winning games more reguarlarly. Oh, and for your coach and captain to start working together.

This has no bearing on the semi finals as it is a one-off cup match. You or the Wolves could have one every league match last season yet still didn't even make it to Old Trafford. You must have been utterly embarrassed to see us and Saints reach the final - yet again. Who gives a stuff about your league form when it's trophies in the cabinet that are a measure of true success.

I think it will be a Wigan v Hudds final. The Wolves have had their best season form wise and are not a patch on last year. If I were you then I'd have certainly wanted Leeds in the semi, but don't count your chickens just yet...

Nobody is counting anything but given that the two other teams we could have faced are above Leeds in the league and have both beaten us this season then it is only natural that we would regard Leeds as the most favourable draw we could have had. That doesn't alter the fact that Leeds have a squad full of talented and dangerous players and could easily win the trophy themselves. I fancy our lads to get to Wembley but I'm not taking anything for granted!

Don't quite know why some of our fans (Leeds) are concerned with Wigan thinking we are the easy tie. On paper we are the lowest placed team left, and therefore on paper the easier tie.

Personally (granted probably biased!) wire have the easier of the two semi finals. Leeds are certainly this and last year very unpredictable but do know how to win big one off games and get to finals since 2004 we have only had one season without getting to one of the big finals. Not always winning the final but do raise game in these situations. Who knows who will win either game. Should both be good games and don't think any two teams are nailed on for a final spot.

I think we're playing better than we were at this stage last season. Granted you beat us, but I thought we threw it away, whereas last year you were the better side.

As for Catalan, we made them look ordinary at our place this season (they beat us home and away last year.) Would still fancy my chances of beating them away, apart from the run of fixtures we now face.
Hudds (A), Saints (Magic), Leeds (A), Cats (A) - win three out of those 4 and I'll be very happy.

so we're even in 2011, what's there to be embarrassed about?
