Remember that many people will be thinking they want to fo to the final and will miss the semi so they can afford it.

I say make the semi-final as cheap as possible.

The FA cup is a much bigger competition and has a lot more demand for the tickets. Man United getting a 30k allocation for a semi is nothing when they get over 70k at home every week and over 30k apply for pretty much every away game.

It comes down this... which would you prefer...

13k at £22 or 25k at £11

With the best will in the world, even at £11 a ticket, we're not sending 12,000 people to a semi final.

8-9k went in 2007 for a game against Catalans.

The only reason we don't get so many is because of RL's lack of marketing.

We took over 30k to Old Trafford for the GF. There is enough Wigan fans, marketing is about reaching all of them and telling them to come. Make it easy and cheap for them to buy tickets and they will.

There is a higher revenue return with less costs for £22 x 13K (£286K) than for
£11 x 25K (£275K) so I'll take the 13K option please.

8-9k went to a game that was around the corner, against a team most expected us to beat. Put this game, which realistically could go either way, in Huddersfield and even charging £11 for Adults, we just won't take north of 10,000

The GF is moot - it was our first appearance in 8 years, on the back of our best season in a long time and with a good chance of the title for the first time in over a decade.

I am doing a sports marketing degree.

Even so, I think our sport needs to take risks by making these events bigger. The long term benefits of making semi-finals a huge event in RL would far outweigh the benefits of an extra £11k profit.

To be honest, nobody cares Rogues. All I care about is RL getting better and bigger. Small time semi-finals do nothing for the game. I would rather see the long term benefits of getting more and more people watching the game.

This now sounds like I am 'having a dig' or 'taking the micky', I am not, I respect your views, you clearly know a lot about RL and have seen the game develop from its very early years

but I am not posting to show my business plan for the RFL to use. If you want to have a dig at some 20 year old lads then I suggest you go down to Wigan Park at all the yobs who ARE NOT trying to better themselves. I am quite aware of 'COSTS' but like I said, I am not on here to to a detailed business plan.

Finally if you actually disagree with the idea of moving to bigger stadiums with cheaper tickets then thats fine but I don't see how anyone could as long as the sport was making a similar amount of money. Maybe you are just being 'Rogues'

Got my ticket online in the south stand and it says terracing but gives a seat number what does this mean? Standing or seated?

I like the idea of bigger stadiums for semis but it would have to be with double headers to make the ground look full.

The whole C Cup needs re-branding and a re-launch.
Saturday afternoons are clearly not attractive to fans and haven't been for decades. I've said for a while they should take the SKY TV slots at 8pm Friday and 6-7pm Saturday if they don't want double headers. If it stays with the beeb then on BBC2.
Transfer the SLS to BBC2 and it then becomes the beeb's RL channel.

The costs could be equal or less for the Galpharm, so unless you actually know the costs stop trying to be a smart.

Even though he got the maths wrong his point is valid, exposure and big crowds bring in other benefits, not to mention extra sales in beer and so on.

Then as more people get used to going to these things you bump up the price a little.

there must be a few cause i didnt have any trouble getting two tickets this morning. i am quite surprised actually cause i thought i'd struggle

Not many left for the South, probably best buying online to be on the safe side.

I thought that they wouldn't have even gone to general sale to be honest. Looks like most who wanted tickets are going to get them!

Are there just a couple of hundred South tickets left and no seats?

Has anybody thought if we win on Sat that the football team is at home on Sunday so we wouldnt be able to buy tickets Sunday.

What's the rush?

I believe that if we win they will be available inside the ground on Sunday from specially erected kiosks in the South East and South West corners.

Doesnt look like they're available online anymore. Is that all our tickets gone now or does the RFL still have some? I didnt expect there to be many left after the weekend. Gonna be a brilliant atmosphere!

There are less than 30 tickets left for the South Stand so they've been taken offline so that people at the window/phones get priority instead of people browsing online. There are still quite a few East Stand (seated) tickets left through the Ticket Office.

EDIT - there are less than 10 tickets left for the South but East Stand tickets are now available to buy online.
