You sure?
If 3rd and 4th lose and 5th and 6th win, 4th plays 5th.
If 1st and 2nd lose and 5th and 6th win, 2nd play 5th.
If 1st and 3rd lose and 5th and 6th win, 3rd plays 5th.
If 3rd and 4th lose and 5th and 7th win, 4th plays 5th.
And so on...
EDIT: Just realised my error. Very pedantic of you! Haha

And the transfer fee for us is useless unless we use it to buy another player. And there are very little true international class players in SL. Ryan Hall is the only back apart from Sam and Josh that are any good.

Nonsense.
Joel Monaghan
Stefan Ratchford
kallum Watkins
Jonny Lomax
Tom Lineham
Ben Crooks
Tom Briscoe
are all good players that would probably get into your side next year without Tomkins and Richards.

I will give you Joel Monaghan he is international class player but none of the others are. They could be in 2-3 years but Crooks and Lineham and Lomax are not at the standard of Sam, Ryan Hall and Josh Charnley at this moment in time. Whilst what you view as international class differs greatly from mine.
Whilst they might get into the team without Pat and Sam. Its a really indictment on the quality in SL that an 30+ winger who has lost a yard of pace is still better than almost all the wingers in SL.

I didn't say they were international class. I said they were good players. You said there was only Hall, Charnley and Tomkins that were any good. If that's not what you meant then fair enough, but that is what you said.
And besides, with regards to your point on using transfer funds, all those players I mentioned would get in your side next season. So it isn't as though you couldn't spend the money on anyone at all.

| Read my post again Yellow Giraffe i do say International Class. And that Ryan Hall, Josh and Sam that are good. That was meant to be they are the only international class backs in SL. Joel Monaghan is but the others are not good enough though given time and if they go to a very good side they could.
But none of those are in the caliber of the 3 i mentioned and thats not a very good position for SL or England to be in.

| Sometimes you have to pay top dollar for "potential" take risks, Ben crooks on the same side as charley = cricket score. Throw some money at saints for lomax while we are at it , worked alright for gary Connolly

I don't need to read your post again. I read the bit about being international class. And then I read the bit where you said only those 3 were any good.

From what i have seen of Briscoe he is the best alternative to Pat available this season and he is i think OOC this season. The others on the list by YG are potentially good players and we have enough potentially good players we need genuine international class players to replace Pat or Sam.
Players like Lomax etc is a risk 1 good half a season does not make a player. You know how poor SL is when teams like Wigan will get a big transfer fee for Sam and there is no other player of that quality or even close to it for you to spend it on. OK we have so many youngsters of real potential we might get away with replacement of Pat but Tierney is not ready and Ryan Hampshire i would like to see play more needs more time at 6. Hampshire is the next superstar in SL the best talent i have seen in a while. But as most players on the list by YG he is potentially international class. We need quality next season not in 2-3 years time.

| We'll see if Briscoe is serious about his career later today. If he's signed for Salford its for nothing other then pure cash. If he hasn't and is going to Wigan or more likely Leeds then he obviously has ambition to compete at the top end of the table and has put winning things before money.
We shall see.

| Tom Briscoe would be a top signing but the lack of an out and out goal kicker is a problem at the minute. Yes Smith and Charnley can both kick to a reasonable degree but neither are Pat Richards.
We obviously have Burgess and Manfredi to step in, but with the possibility of Josh being next to go to the NRL, I think that Owens from Widnes would be worth a punt. Then again, I'd prefer us to sign a World Class centre if we're signing anyone.

I don't know if I agree with this, I feel players, apart from the money, might see the potential in Salford, a team going places, with the right signings they could, in a year or two, be real contenders.

Big rumour, strong source claims we've signed Brett Hodgson. He'll be our fullback and goal kicker for next season.

Bit arrogant that - Salford could easily find themselves challenging for trophies in the next few years, in the same way Wire have been transformed with Moran's cash.
They need a decent coach though.

Everyone said that about City and Chelsea at first and now people see that as more chance of trophies than Arsenal or Liverpool which would have seemed incredible 10 years ago.

All aboard Salford Revolution - Chris Ashton, Sam Tomkins and 'worst kept secret' Rangi Chase
By Nigel Roberts
Salford fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcements tomorrow of the Reds signings for next season.
Salford chairman Marwan Koukash is poised to announce the star signing of Rangi Chase tomorrow – the game’s worst kept secret.
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats scrum-half Tim Smith is the latest player to join the Reds.
Australian Smith signed over the weekend for a fee said to be £90,000 and joins Warrington forward Adrian Morley, St Helens winger Francis Meli, Melbourne centre Junior Sa’u and New Zealand Warriors forward Steve Rapira.
The Reds are said to have made a move for Parramatta Eels full-back Jake Mullaney.
Wigan’s Gareth Hock is likely to be joining shortly and London Broncos hooker Tommy Lee is another player said to be lined up.
New Zealand dual international Sonny Bill Williams has also been sounded out but a stumbling block proved to be a clause in his contract to enable him to continue his boxing career down under.
He is the number one professional boxer in New Zealand.
Don’t be surprised too if Sam Tomkins doesn’t join the Reds revolution and a further shock addition could be rugby union winger and former player Chris Ashton.
Major departures from the Reds are Jodie Broughton, Ashley Gibson, Wayne Godwin and Lee Gaskell.
Broughton has signed for Huddersfield Giants, Gibson is joining Castleford whilst Gaskell links up with Bradford Bulls.
Marc Sneyd is rumoured to be joining Castleford on a loan basis as part of the deal that brings Chase to Barton.
Forward Jordan James is also leaving the Reds to join the backroom staff at Wigan. Stephen Wild is likely to depart too.

I think that depends on who else salford have signed. if he has been told of a rather impressive list of incoming players then success may not be too far away for them
