Likewise my son and his 2 mates were sat amongst the Wigan contingent at last years final adorned in their Warrington colours and had a great day full of friendly rivalry and fun!
You can find fault with any set of fans if you look hard enough but there are far more in the way of positives with Rugby League fans. Lets applaud that!!

Been to numerous Grand Finals and the thing that always stood out to mates I took who weren't that big RL fans was the way the fans mixed with each other.

I always reckon you have a very different day out at a final as a neutral, and I really enjoy it.

If you put 70000 people and ale in the same place there will be the odd bit of bother, but I've been to 10 CC finals now, some to support Leeds, some as a neutral and every time the way the different fans can all be in the same places and enjoy themselves is the best part of it.

RL fans are the best fans in any sport. FACT.

Glad to see some intelligent RL fans finally posting in this thread. Looking forward to seeing a good game and a few beers with the rugby league family. Only got tickets in the Leeds family stand cos they were cheaper. Wearing my alljoinjack t-shirt anyway. The wife and son will be wearing Wigan shirts. Got Wigan written on my leg anyway! Here's to a great occasion.

I'll be there, still slightly disappointed that we're not playing Wigan...but not too much.

The atmosphere though would have been electric.

It winds me up at times, all the comments that "Wire fans are this..... Wigan fans are that.....Leeds fans are the other etc"
If you look at it without any rose tinted glasses you'll realise that all clubs carry a similar small amout of baggage but the majority, and big majority of RL fans get on famously!
I cant wait for Wembley! Yes because my team are there but also because I know I'm gonna have some banter and craic and share a pint with fans that I bump in to from any club!!

Same for us but swapped around last year in the Wigan end with our Wire shirts on had some great bannter.

my take on this is that 99.99% of people you meet in life are decent and wouldn't do others any harm, but the problem lies in the fact that the other 00.01% make a lot of noise and their presence well known, rugby league fans are no different and you'll always get the odd bad egg in any demograph!

I go to the final every year for the weekend and this will be my 39th year on the run (40 finals in total). During all those visits I have seen very little trouble ( maybe the odd "fuelled" up supporter who pushes his views too far onto other people) and the great thing is that in general most fans can mix and have a laugh and a joke with each other and discuss rugby.
It's obviously better when your own team is playing but when they aren't you can at least take in the proceedings without those butterflies churning over in the stomach.
Although I am not a great fan of either team at present ( understatement) I will still have an enjoyable weekend and I will be hoping that Wire win.
I now await the indignant replies from the Leeds fans and the disbelief from fellow Wigan fans.
