I thought tonights final showed everything thats great, AND terribly flawed with the play-off idea.
Was a great game, played under no pressure, by 2 teams that performed excellently once the season reached its knockout phase.
Both deserved to be there, and Leeds certainly deserved to win.
Under the current rules that makes them SL Champs 2011.

BUT its that last bit i struggle with.
Despite Eddie almost losing his wig trying to justify how the play-off system makes RL such a great game....Can anyone, really, seriously say that Leeds have been anywhere near the best team in the comp this year?
No way. Looking at the season as a whole, that honour falls to Wire (much as it hurts) - With us also losing less games than anyone else.
As posted earlier, Sky have brainwashed us into believing that the season is almost a mere 'prelim' to the play-off's.
Not to mention how they have buried the Challenge Cup into almost total meaningless oblivion.

Some people will say its just bitterness, cos we werent there.
And for sure, i'd be delighted if Wigan took the crown from 5th.
But would i think of us as true champions? I'm not sure about that one.
My view (for 10yrs on here), is that the Play-off's are nothing more than a glorified Premiership series.
Exciting for sure, and fantastic when you win at O/T.
But in my humble opinion, Warrington are the uncrowned SL champs this year. There is just no comparison to a Rhino's team that have stuttered and stumbled their way through most the 2011 season.

The bit I disagree with is that Wire are the uncrowned SL champs.

You see at the start of the year EVERYONE knows the rules. The rules state that whoever wins the GF will be champions.

Therefore, it is vital that every coach prepares their team to achieve that goal. If they believe that coming 1st is the way to do it, then they should go for this. If they believe that coming 8th is the best way for their team to do this, then this should be their goal.

Given the rules you cannot simply say that Wire are in any way SL champs (just as you could not say that about Wigan at that stage in 2010)
