I have a respect for both teams even if I despise them. I wouldn't say there is something wrong with you mentally if you didn't take a lot of pride in beating the team top of the table and arguably your closest competitor... but there is something wrong with you mentally if you don't

I'm bored of all the sh[ii[/ite already and it's only Sunday. Any chance the mods put up a who's got the smallest todger competition and let the children fight among themselves for week, without threads all over the place turning into Wigan v Wire measuring competitions?

To be honest i understand where you're coming from with this.

To me a victory over Leeds and Saints also means far more.. Leeds and Saints have consistantly managed to raise lift themselves for big games over the past 4 or 5 years and have gained the experience to close the big games out, so victory over them has to be earned.

It doesnt give as much satisfaction beating teams whom have either battled relagation or scraped into the playoffs during past seasons before finally having a successful season. After a few more years the satisfaction may be the same but not yet. The difference is the Leeds or Saints games you hope to win as you accept they have experienced closing out the big, important games on numerous occasions.

The other game you expect to win as deep down you believe you have the better players and you know that the opposition have only really had the one good season so are still lacking the experience.

Can we have a better class of troll please? These Wire fans just aren't up to it.

Exactly how i feel about warrington mate.

For 16 years they have never been on the radar ..i mean only one win in the play offs ever..constant mid to low table team..

its just not the same satisfaction i get from beating teams who you know wont bottle it at the most important time of the season..like saints and leeds.

Im quite an active troll on your board leading up to our games but some of the Wire fans posts regarding this game are embarrassing, lets be honest we have probably only very recently been considered a big game to you lot due to our transformation under smith and even though its VERY early days,both looking a good early tip for the GF.

Can't call friday,would prefer a full strength wigan v a full strength wire ( we are missing Anderson, Atkins, King, Cooper,i know your missing a few too) but won't be more than a full score in it.

This thread places far too much importance on the two teams involved, whilst denegrating the rest of SL. There is a long way to go, with both teams losing games along the way.

The only thing that Friday will decide, is who gets two points, nothing more, nothing less.

I find this very hard to believe. Certainly with respect to Leeds. Ive been to a few Wigan v Saints games, and also a couple of your games against Leeds. But the atmosphere from your fans during those matches compared to that of say, last year at HJ when you won that thrilling match, was nowhere near in terms of magnitude.

Then ofcourse you have magic weekend and despite being pitted against your 'biggest rivals' that day, I dont recall any banter from the massive support you took there being aimed at Saints. Instead for 6 hours, the 'w**ky Warrington chant was relentless. Which is fine by me if i'm honest.

Therefore, I'm justifiably led to believe that a game against us means more to the likes of yourself than you'll ever care to admit. Having said that, this 'front' put on by many fans doesn't bother me whatsoever. I dont seek respect or any of that nonsense for our club, its not necessary. I know how far we've come from the times when watching Wire was like watching a blind Hobbit pick out a tshirt in menswear. So if you want to pour cold water over the magnitude of this match then thats fine. Because I know what youre saying is a total crock!!

As for the game, its going to be a cracker! Ive tipped Wigan not to drop any points at home this season. I'm sticking with it marginally come friday. However, as a few have eluded to, this will not decide the outcome of each team's respective seasons. It will however provide an edge to either team mentally though, which will take either team a long way....

anyone would think there is 6 games to go not 6 games gone. For me this is a big local clash but as for big game in terms of league standings then not at all.

There will be plenty twists and turns along the season and the league will not be won or lost on friday
