| Some people have some short memories, any fullback would have struggled under those kicks last night. It was only at Salford Sam dropped a few at fullback that were nowhere near the same quality as Brough's kicks. Should Sam be dropped to? IMO Roberts runs the ball back better than Sam at fullback. However when in attacking position Sam comes into the attacking line better than Roberts but by no means should that mean Roberts should be dropped completely.

amos to stay at FB with lockers at 6
seriously. the wire pack will bounce sam all over the shop if they get near the try line in a one on one position. lockers had a beast of a game last night and it was certainly a captains notch or whatever the saying is!
wire will not adopt the same "bombing" tactic as much as hudds as they know they have a better attack in the go forward and IMO amos will be able to handle it just as well as sam, simply with stronger defence. ok we lose the brain of sam but with lockers playing like he did last night who cares!
if anyone i'd drop marsh, goulding to centre, amos on that wing, stick with lockers at 6 and sam at FB then we have the luxury of getting amos at FB with same going to 6 and lockers interchanging with the likes of farrell if necessary. BOOM!

| Would love Karl Pryce to smash a few Wires players - legitimately of course!
Even better if there are some unsavoury incidents involving Morley, Carvell and co and they have to appear before the RFL disciplinary panel. Any betting, though, they would miraculously escape a ban? Again!

| if neither finch or deacon are fit id keep roberts at full back. the kicks Brough put in were superb in the first half, the height, distance, the way the ball rotates and changes direction, any full back would have struggled. The fact is in the second half we applied alot more pressure to kicker so the bombs were harder to execute. Sam to 6 and tommy at 7 for me next week. Roberts needs confidence and he'll get that by playing. last year pre injury there wasnt a better player in the league with ball in hand !!!

That is the worst excuse I have heard so far. Yes they were good kicks, but to bottle a catch FOUR times in the first half is more down the lack of confidence of the player rather than the quality of the kicker. Most full backs would have at least made an attempt to catch the ball.

Then why did Sam drop less quality kicks in the same position the other week at Salford?

Roberts bottling FOUR catches has nothing to do with Sam and Salford. I don't recall praising Sam and I don't recall calling for Roberts to be dropped either. I am allowed to criticise Roberts for that if I want to, and IMO most fullbacks would have made more of an attempt whereas Roberts looked like a scared little kid.

| Don't think there's any doubt Sam will come back in at full back. Can't understand people talking about Sam moving to 6 - MM sees him as a full-back now. End of. Besides, Lockers is playing great at 6.
I'd keep him there, and just replace Mellor with Finch or Deacs on the bench, depending on who's fit. If neither are, maybe Roberts on the bench. Let Mellor go back to Quins.

I remember how poorly defensivly Sam played against Salford but because it's Sam hardly a word was spoken. The minute Roberts has a few dodgy moments there's 4 or 5 pages on him. What's the difference? I think some people are being to quick to judge, especially those who are wanting him out of the 17, quite ridiculous really.

That's probably because more people saw what Roberts had done as it was on TV. I don't want him dropped but I do think he needs a massive improvement, you cant bottle kicks like he did.

| I hope the Hoff is able to recover, he took a bad bang and needed pain killing injections at hudds to return.
It would be great to get sam back at 1 and then finchy off the bench. However, this game will be won and lost up front in the forwards. They came to the DW last season and bullied our pack. We cannot afford for the same thing to happen again.

Not scared, but most people, I think quite rightly, identified you as our biggest threat, pre-season, and we've seen nothing since then to induce a change of mind.
I'd rather win against an injury-hit side than lose to a full strength one, which is quite possible given the relative strengths of both sides. Gonna be a great game, as is the return match at the HJ, and both will go a long way to deciding the eventual destination of the hubcap.

They were much better kicks, in my opinion. The Salford ones were all into areas Sam wasn't and he struggled to adjust to them positionally. The Brough kicks were just high bombs that Amos bottled.

You make it sound like Roberts was stood under them for 5 mins waiting Them bombs from Brough were swerving a lot more in the air. The only player in our squad i would have backed with serious confidence to take all them would be Pat and we all know how good he is taking high balls.

| Friday is a massive must win game for wire. A deafeat to us would effectively put them 3 points behind us if we won our game in hand, a lead that would not be easilly overcome.
They cannot afford to lose this opne and will be as good as their early season cup final

its not an excuse at all. Two of the kicks were directly under the posts, one of which deflected off them and the others were just great kicks with just the right amount of length on them for the pressure to be applied.we offered no protection to roberts and applied no pressure to brough to prevent kicks of that quality to be put it. no coincidence it didnt happen in the 2nd half. To say he bottled 4 kicks is very harsh. we all know how hard it is to take kicks from a standing start against numerous on rushing defenders who have momentum to their jumps.
