I am sure that if a player is loaned until the END of a season, rather than on a month to month basis his parent club cannot stop him from appearing against them. You might well be right about a recall though, not sure on that one.

How long have Carmont and Gleeson got left on contracts, and does anyone feel there is anything to the Shenton speculation.

Carmont is out of contract end of this season but has negotiated a further year which it looks as though he will stay for 2011.
Gleeson is here until the end of the 2012 season.

Shenton has signed for Saints.

The recall period is one month, so we can't recall him during that initial month-long loan spell.

However, after that, we can stipulate any recall period that suits us (the club that holds the player's registration).

And as for him being allowed to play against us - We (Wigan) stipulate whether he can or not. Basically, the contract is in our favour, as we are the club who are "helping out" by loaning our player to Hull KR.

In every other case this year, we have stipulated that the player may NOT play against us, and I would fully expect this to continue in Josh's case.

Totally agree that he should continue on loan at KR, seems to be giving him a lot of confidence and I am sure he will be learning a lot under Justin Morgan.

Make sure we get him back eventually though

No point in him coming back to Wigan to play in 20s now he's had the experience at HKR. It's much more beneficial to us in the long term for him to get as much practice playing at SL level , so I'd hope he stays there for the season.

No and he is on a full time contract at Wigan.

will he get a chance next year or would it be worth him going on a season long loan rather playing reserve grade, then he coild come back in 2012 and replace Carmont or Gleeson havong had plenty of SL experience (or has this been mentioned before)

Its great thats he's standing out in such a good team. It's not like he's playing for a club at the bottom or in the NL's. He's likely to be playing playoff footy which is just fantastic for him.

The kid is quality, you will have superb player there and he will benefit greatly from his time with us, he has a good relationship already with the players and fans, he was embarrassed today when the full east stand began to chant his name, but smiled and gave us a nice clap back.

The rest of the league must be shaking in their boots. We're top of the table, bringing in 3 very good NRL imports AND our academy is a conveyor belt of talent. How times have changed.

Hope the club let him stay at KR for the rest of the season AND allow him to play against us and play-offs - unless we get an injury crisis and we need him back. Would be great experience for him, and it's looking increasingly likely him and Marsh will get plenty of game time next season as I can see Pryce leaving now.

Play against us, surely we would not allow that to happen.
