Actually looking at that squad again I only count four out-and-out props (Fielden, Coley, Prescott, Davies) and if Fielden is carrying a knock maybe Davies will get a hit out after all

Nothing official - he's still available for the rest of the year but has already been told he won't be retained for next season.

I still think he's a great player though who has horrendous luck this year. If he stays over here, he'll do very well for any Super League club. Saints fans may laugh at this but I think he'd be good for them as a long term replacement for Paul Wellens.

I still can't quite understand why he's been overlooked to such an extent. Despite the fact that our outside backs have been on fire this year, I still think Phelps could have a part to play this season.

Phelps was world class last year and the start of this season. I am shocked he is being overlooked.

No he's not, but I'd rather he played FB and Sam played his natural position, than Deacon play and Sam move to FB.

Possibly had he been fit we might have done that with Amos Roberts out.

Although, I am very excited to see how Sam gets on at fullback. He was devastating against Widnes (although Harlequins will provide a much sterner test!).

Apparently Bails is carrying a knock, so he may not play. TBH I'd have dropped him to the U20's anyway, even if fit, and played Tuson. He was no better than Feca & Pryce, who have both been "demoted".

People talk of Bailey's defensive prowess, but when it actually boils down to it he's our weak link in defense.

And don't even get me started on his offensive capabilities, he has none.

Bails is a passenger in this team, and one of the few players in the squad who hasn't improved under Madge.

I got murdered for saying less on here last week, maybe a few people have now changed their minds about him. Once Hansen is fit he shouldnt play another game barring further injuries

I agree with much of the above and it certainly won’t sit well with those who build him up to be something he’s not on here.

The only thing Bailey has going for him is the kids in the u20’s respect him.

He played a massive part in our loss last week.

I respect the hard work he put in when he first signed and guys like him have played a massive part in all the good things we see today BUT his time is up and once HH is back he shouldn’t be seeing any game time.

Probably the most glib use of "great" in history. Could have been worse though, you could have said he was "world class" like another on this thread.

Agreed, he's a decent player, and would probably do well in quite a few squads in the league, but he's nowhere near the kind of player to be described as great.

Just noticed. 12 Wiganers in that squad and thats without Lockers and Goulding who might normally be in.
