Mr Matterson
I can see Dulux paint having a moan next week though

| Sam is young and will learn to take those oppertunites as his experience grows. we have a very young squad that will only get better with age. I do not expect us to win the GF this year but the experience the players will gain from this year will make us contenders for years to come. we are still very light in the forwards and this must be addressed next year. I argued rotten with a fellow poster on here not so long ago but Paul Prescott is not a SL quality prop. his defense cannot be questioned but his go forward is woeful. Tuson is no where near the size required to play in the front or second row. a couple of props are required for next year.

| Not alot to disagree with in this thread. It wasn't a particularly entertaining game but did have some good performances.
I thought the Lockers/Tomkins try was superb and the highlight of the match.
Terry Halibut is awful and nowhere near SL standard. On at least two occasions during the match a penalty was effectively given by the players.
I thought they might just turn the screw after the two tries in quick succession but they seemed to take the foot off the gas and there may even have been a bit of show boating.
The match was always going to be a tricky one so to come away with the two points without being troubled too much is satisfying.

I'm glad about the win and a margin of 16 is fine.
Millward tipped a Cas win with a handicap of 20. I never ever thought we'd win with 20 or more after last week and the fact that Cas didn't have a game.'"
Yeah I bet on Cas on the handicap at +18 then I put my winnings on Quins -6. Overall very good day for me

| Yet again another match ruined by the referee Alibert is an absolute disgrace and the worst of the lot, he prances around with his head in the clouds not a clue what he is doing, something needs to be done about this or people will just get sick of it and stop watching the game.
I thought Leuluai was superb today, im not his biggest fan but that was the best i've ever seen him play in a Wigan shirt, hope he can keep providing performances like that!
Other than that it was the usual ones who were yet again fantstic, both tomkins, o'loughlin (if these 3 dont play next week we will struggle massively)

Are you on about where he had 2 men on the outside but he dinked inside instead?
That was because he had a defender coming at him so he tried to make room the pass first, unfortunately he wasnt able to.
The lads young, has all the attributes needed for a top class SL half back - he's in the top 5 for assists this season aswel which prooves he aint all that greedy

| I seriously doubt if Alibert knows the rules to the game after today. At points he looked like a deer caught in headlights when he had to make a 50/50 call. He hasn't a clue. Get rid. We don't need a French ref.

At the PTB he was watching down the defensive line what was being set up and not watching the PTB at all, which basically meant when a ball was knocked on, stole or there was messing around, he was just taking lucky punts at a decision.
Fool.

| Good result after last weeks defeat. Radlinski said in the south stand bar after game that the players were really down from last week, so any win after that imo is good enough. All the teams who played in the cup last week struggled this week

Agreed. After such a draining cup tie both physically and emotionally it was important just to get the ball rolling again in Super League. It was a tough game, made a little bit harder by the referee (does he know how far ten yards is?), but we got the job done. Thomas Leuluai and Sam Tomkins were superb today (apart from when Sam should have passed!) and I thought Lockers and Richards played crucial roles in setting up vital tries. Chris Tuson had a good game too.
I thought we missed Andy Coley big time.

| Quote ="MattyB"Just waiting for Matterson's comments. Wonder if he will point the finger at our defensive tactics today.'"
Depends which finger!!!
Thought Lockers was Outstanding his work rate was brilliant. Farrel stood up at Prop well and Tuson was solid and as mentioned Fielden yet again just goes about his hard work quietly. Ok it was a scrappy performance and win but I didnt really feel we would lose as we looked like we had a few gears to go up! When you look at the players we can still add to that side things look good!
We have put ourselves in a cracking position to finish top and should we stay there I would fancy us to beat anyone else at home in play offs!
