One thing I noticed on Monday was, that at one point we had 11 'English' players in Cherry and White, twas good to see!

Although I agree with Madge in resting Fielden - who has struggled a bit lately - I don't think we should rest anymore players for Sunday's match. Huddersfield did and got tonked. They were never in the game Huddersfield. One of the few mistakes Nathan Brown has made as coach IMO. So it's the strongest side available for me.

I agree with that. Only possible change could be Piggy to start and last bench spot to either Farrell, Walker or Feka

Will be good to see STomkins and Deacon play a full game alongside eachother, tommy could find it difficult to get back into the team!

Only a fool would make that kind of mistake...

Carmont to miss out. Limping off like he has recently, I don't think he'll last. And the oppo are highly likely to target him. Get him rested and bring him back fully fit.

Im sure Clifford is due today @ some point with the team, but I agree re Carmont.

I'm thinking Carmont might miss out and thats why Walker has been included.

I went to the dinner the other night at Haigh Hall with Maguire and Wane the guest speakers and they hinted that Feka would be playing and that we'll see more young players making their debuts pretty soon(maybe they mean Sheffield though).

On the subject of young players I asked the question to both Maguire and Wane which of the young players from our u21 set up did they have the highest hopes for. They mentioned 4 or 5 but the player Shaun Wane mentioned 2 or 3 times was Steffan Marsh. They seemed pretty excited about that lads quality.

I wonder if Carmont wasn't to play today it would add more smoke to the fire that Shenton may be a target for us.

Its been going around for some time and makes sense on every level.

Already we are seeing Carmont struggle with injury, that situation will surely only be worse in another 12 months. I really think this season will be his last.

It would mean he is rested due to the fact he is still carrying a knock. As i have said further up the thread i would rest him against Salford and Sheffield make sure he is right for the Quins and Hudderfield games. I would also give Mossop a week off as he was looking a little lethargic at times on Monday and no point burning the lad out when we have cover for him.

Walker has been playing fantastic for Blackpool while he's been here, its good to see this form is being recognized by wigan with him included in the 19.
