Whilst I disagree with the comments, I don't know why people are so upset about the response from the BBC. It is not unusual to use templates in responses to complaints, yet this is clearly not a copy and paste job. They refer to the actual details and explain their thoughts on it (whether you agree with their explanation is a seperate matter).

Things like the last line is a standard line, of course it is, and why wouldn;t it be?

FWIW, I thought the comment was in poor taste, but aren't these guys paid to provoke and be controversial? We can't like everything they say, and had this been about Jonny Wilkinson's injuries, nobody would have said anything, and I would expect a fair few smileys on RL boards.

Why do yo feel the need to keep repeating this? If it doesn't bother you, then there is little need for you to comment on it. For many, myself included, the comments were in bad taste and I expect better from the BBC. I don't take kindly to being told by yourself that I should feel the same way as you, otherwise I'm 'blowing it WELL (note the capitals) out of proportion' (sic) To put it simply, the posters who have taken the trouble to write to the BBC complaints department obviously feel their actions were proportionate or, presumably, they wouldn't have written.

The first comment was my opinion that I didn't think there was too much in his comment.

That's my point - I don't think he was. When you watch a game that includes the team we play the week after or that is above us, you might use the comment [i'a few injuries and suspensions will do'[/i but you don't actually wish a player to get hurt. I just think this was similar.

I never said they had to did I? I just stated that my opinion is that it has been blown out of proportion. My opinion on 9/11 is that it they knew about it. Doesn't make either of them right. They're just my opinion.
