It was milked by Pryce, due to faking the tap twice. Amos simply happened to be the man to react first - It could have been anyone.

If anything, I believe that the penalty should have gone Wigan's way, as faking a tap to draw a "foul" is at the very least "unsportsman-like conduct".

Having been furious at the time, and now having watched it back.

Correct decision, stupid from Amos.

That being said, Wilkin should have gone in the first half for holding down Roberts after the scrum against the head.

I think you need to watch it again BK before making comments like that. Pryce actually knocks on before Roberts is anywhere near him. He then regathers and goes to play the ball at which point Amos attempts to knock his arm. Scrum to Wigan.

As an aside, I actually saw Pryce appear to dummy twice whilst at the game (although I didn't see the knock on until I saw the Sky coverage). If I could see it from the back of the stand behind the sticks with thousands of bodies jumping around, I fail to see how Thaler:

a) didn't at least see the dummy, if not the knock on
b) thought the offence worthy of a yellow card.

Very poor decision but luckily not one that cost us the match, although it could have.

However, the 'double dummy' most certainly isn't hard to spot and, I think I'm right in saying, isn't allowed. Amos, quite rightly, thought the play was underway.

Meli should have been bnned for the trip on Roberts when Lockers made the break from the scrum. Thaler had a nightmare today.......for both teams. He slowed the game down and could have ruined it.

Look ... if Wigan have done Saints on their own turf in the last derby, and 'BrettKenny' was "utterly embarrassed" by something we did, I count it as a very good day.



That said, I suspect he'd be less embarrassed if Nobby had been in charge. Though, if Nobby had been in charge, we'd probably have lost. Again.

Should be a rule really, I was getting p*ssed off due to how close it was to the line. He could easily dummy until we dropped our guard and enable him to just put the ball down under the sticks otherwise.

never a penalty, never a sinbinning full stop!!! Dummying a penalty is not allowed he did that twice - so could have actually been a penalty to Wigan. He also dropped the ball so could have been a scrum to Wigan!! Meli could have and maybe should have gone off for the trip on Roberts. Then can't remember which saints player it was but holding down Roberts in the same incident should have been sin binned.
