He was bloody brilliant once he settled in, but it took him quite a while.
And that was playing in the best club side in the world at the time, and that's why I find the criticism of some of the newly arrived overseas players very strange. |

I understand your point but how would we measure whether a player will settle in quickly over others? It's pretty much impossible. |

You're right there is no way of knowing. I was just getting a bit frustrated with both Roberts and Riddell. There is obviously so much potential there and it is taking so long to come out.

Claderwood would have scored a stack load of tries if Wigan could create a little space in the wide areas.
You can have the world's best wingers but if they are not given the ball in the right areas or in a little space, they are pretty useless. |

They should go home and see if they can land a contract. That would/will be the test of how good they are doing.
Not putting in the effort needed i.e. lazy, they could not do what they are doing here in Australia as they would be crucified in their press and rightly so.

There is time for both of them but I really think if we could have retained Colbon and signed a decent half back rather than these two we would be doing much better.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but personally I would never in a million years signed Roberts - not before I signed Gleeson or a centre to the same standard anyway.

Even with Gleeson Roberts still isn't seeing much ball as it's not getting over to Gleeson in the first place.
I'd love to see a player like Solomona on our right side that would get some quality ball to Gleeson and Roberts because they're not getting it at the moment.
Gleeson keeps having to come inside looking for work. |
