Morgan has proved he can hack it in Superleague, with your setup and financial backing could do very well

He took the team a step backwards and some of the senior players took it upon themselves to continue training how they had previously under other coaches ignoring his methods because the players felt they were dated.

| Endacott, we were second in the table and he never lost two games in a row. Ok he had a very good team at his disposal but that doesn't neccessarily mean he wouldn't have done well with a bad team.

| Raper.
But I think we need someone totally new who will bring a new approach to everything.
Starting with some props and a world class halfback.

Not sure we need a world class halfback as such. I'd rather plow money into getting a much bigger and better pack. We just need someone to direct us round the park with a good kicking game and there are players out there who could do that for decent money.

| Of the 4 coaches named I think you have to factor in the squad the coaches had at their disposal. Therefore I would say:
1. Raper
2. Noble
3. Endacott
4. Millward
Although we won a cup with Raper there were rumours of discontent in the dressing room (hence the de ja vu I'm getting these days). I don't know whether it was coincidence but after he left (after the shocking home performance v Widnes) IIRC the team went on an unbeaten run to the Grand Final playing arguably our best rugby of the Super League under Mike Gregory, my real number one who isn't included in the poll.

What talent though?
Wild, heart the size of a pea and not as good as what we have now
Robinson, would he not now be keeping topmkins out?
Aspinwall same as robinson but keeping out ainscough?
Hodgeson. Not good enough imo.
Problem is not the players, but the coaching staff hence the thread.
I personally wouldnt have any of the previous coaches back.
It would be a backwards step.
However i do agree that Greg would have still been coach now as he seemed to have something special. Shame really.

The main reason robinson left was nothing to do with his ability!
I would have kept brown though as i think he is good.
However you cant just keep people for being from the juniors, they need to be good enough and the only junior we have gotten rid of who has come back to haunt us is long. And see robinson for the reason he left!

I agree with what you say above but the talent missed and never replaced was Pongia, Smith and O'Connor. The loss of these three plus Farrell and Cassidy was the start of our demise. Not only were they good pack players they were leaders something we badly miss today.

Correct, the heart of our team left within one season. We have never recovered.
