| For what it`s worth there is a rumour down under that Queensland Cowboys` fullback Matt Bowen will join Wigan next year on a 2 year deal, I`ve heard this from 2 different sources, make of it what you will.

| Sam gives a very confident interview on the BBC Website, in it he says if Wigan are in a crises when being 3rd in the league and in a Wembley Final he would take it every time.
He goes on to say that he is fully fit after a run of consecutive injuries and it is the first time in his career that he has had this problem, every player has to contend with a run like that.
He comes across has being very relaxed and really looking forward to Wembley.

| I'm still amazed that the club is staying quiet on this. Everyone knows Sam is gone. If he is staying, just come out and say it. If he's leaving, he hasn't signed a contract 'yet' which means it's sitting on his kitchen table waiting for the right time to announce it.
The thing is, not one Wigan fan would begrudge him going to the NRL. Good luck to him. What we are angry about, is being taken for mugs and having the pi$$ taken out of us.
Announce the fact that he's gone, and let's get on with the rest of the season. In some bizarre way, it will probably help the other players to start performing better, knowing they don't have to keep it secret any more.

| I've just posted this in the rumours thread, Sam now wants to play Rugby Union in 2015.
The next few weeks will most probably be his last in a Wigan shirt ever, I just wish he'd stop selling him self at every opportunity and concentrate on Wigan and the fans who currently pay his wages.
[urlhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/10286811/Wigan-Warriors-rugby-league-star-Sam-Tomkins-keen-to-switch-codes-in-time-for-2015-World-Cup.html[/url
“I am not one of these people who is all about league and says union is rubbish,” said Tomkins, who was at Saracens’ ground at Allianz Park on Wednesday as the new ambassador for Shock Doctor, the sports protection range.
“Seeing England play at Twickenham in front of tens of thousands of people, that is what would do it for me.
"The international scene in rurgby union would be what I would want to get into at some point if I could.”
"How players get looked after in union off the field far outweighs league by 10 times.”

| Hard to argue with RL not looking after its players well. After all, the SC has reduced player wages by over a third in real terms and for years no one cared, in fact many of the pro-SC nutters that used to post on here seemed to begrudge talented players earning what in elite sports terms are modest salaries.

Sam earns £300,000 a year at Wigan add on his media work and I think he's doing quite well from rugby league in this country. Although I do agree for the average player wages can be pitiful.

I agree with you he is playing NZW off now against Union if the rumors are true about him going to NZW for 2014. He is either stringing NZW along and making them think they have him or he is just playing Mr Nice Guy to the Union media. Whilst blatantly belittling League in the UK. A game which has made him rich.
I seriously doubt he would be allowed to miss so many games and do so many media events etc in union. Especially if its not releated to the club he is playing for our Country. Starting to lose all respect for him. He is now coming over worse the Suarez at least he was honest enough to say he wanted to go. And once he was made to stay he at least puts the club first and not himself. Also Suarez has more bite than Tomkins.

Why won't he play in the playoffs? Wigan will definitely have a home tie at some point.

No. If you lose in round 1 then you will play at home in round 2 against one of the winners from the 5th v 8th and 6th v 7th games.

| Depending on where you finish. If you finish 3rd and loose your qualifying play off then you will be at home the following week v the winner of 6th v 7th. If you finish 4th and loose your qualifying play off you will be at home the following week v the winners of 5th v 8th.
Simples!

Not correct. You could lose from 3rd and end up playing the winner of 5th v 8th and you could also lose from 4th and end up playing the winner of 6th v 7th. Not as "Simples" as you suggest.
As the table stands now, if Wigan lost to Warrington in round 1 and Hulll beat Catalans and Hull KR beat Saints, then Wigan would play Hull KR in round 2, assuming Huddersfield beat Leeds.
In other words, the highest placed loser from round 1 plays the lowest placed winner. Also, the lowest placed loser from the top 4 in week 1 will play the highest placed winner from 5th - 8th.
