Just done some comparisons (Sent them across)
Wigan's prices stand up very well in most areas in my opinion
In particular the Junior section were kids are free Behind sticks and on sidelines for free until they are 8
Whereas at Saints and Wolfs it's only until 5 - And at Wire they pay between £15&20 under 5
After 8 Wigan Juniors pay the same price behind sticks as on sidelines (Something I criticised direct to Simon Collinson 10 years ago when my kids were that age as the gap was over £100 dearer for juniors to sit on sidelines back then)
Between £30 & £53 - Ridiculously Cheap!!!!
Saints is From 6 and cost £52 behind sticks up to £115 on the sidelines
Wolfs is from 6 and cost approx. £50 standing up to 90 (Silver) or 109(Gold)
Wigan have 2 pricing categories for Youth 18-21 & 22-24 (Great initiative and as my son is 22 can now take advantage of this extended age pricing as it's difficult at that age and your just setting up in life etc).
The younger one is 125 to 202 behind sticks & 125 to 257 sidelines dependant on early bird or full (I think the full price is too high compared to the other clubs and could put people off buying for first time at that age - although early Bird is around 170 sticks and 205 Sideline
Saints only do till 21 and its 157 to 188 Behind Sticks and 176 to 248 (Silver) & 270(Gold) (So actually Wigan not that bad???)
Wolfs is to 23 (Not bad but still younger than Wigan) and is 110 to 177 Standing or 122 to 197 (Silver) & 259 (Gold) (Similar to Wigan)
The OAP has another advantage that it starts at 60 whereas Saints is only 65 (not sure about Wolfs)
But again the prices stand up favourably
Wigan behind Sticks 125 to 177 - Sidelines 130 to 209 (265 Full)
Saints behind sticks 157 to 188 - Sidelines 205 to 248 (Silver) & 270 (Gold)
Wolfs Standing 110 to 177 - Seated 122 to 197 (Silver) & 259(Gold)
So once again IMO our prices stand up favourably & start earlier
Wigans Adult prices behind sticks - 190 to 207 Renewal & 261 to 290 for Early/Full
Saints Adult prices behind sticks - 226 Renewal to 270 Full
Wolfs Adult Prices Standing - 165 Renewal to 225/265 for early full (better than Wigan IMO)
Wigan Sidelines - £195 & 230 Renewal - Up to 290 early & 347 Full
Saints Sidelines - £281 renewal & 301 Early Bird up to 337 (Silver) & 362 (Gold)
Wolfs Seated - £193 Renewal up to Early Bird 258 & 311 Full (Silver) & 383 (Gold
So again dependant on when you buy Wigans stand up pretty well and in fact anyone who sits centre of the sidelines they are very much cheaper as we don't pay more like Saints/Wolfs who have "Gold" seating.
***NOTE***
Clubs do have "Family" Tickets which in turn complicates things more but could for a Family make things cheaper
Top line is this
ALL of the PRICES at ALL of the CLUBS are fantastic value IMO and there are plenty options to suit all Wallets/Price ranges
Wigan IMO on the Whole stand up very well in all areas
But up to the Age of 24 I believe the Wigan Prices/options in all parts of the ground are unbelievable value
0-7 Being free anywhere on the ground - whilst others are up to 5 only and 15/20 at Wolfs - Very Good Wigan
Juniors Being 30 to 53 in ALL parts of the ground - Whilst the others are 50 to 115 on the sidelines - Very Good Wigan
Having Young Adults up to 24 Whilst Saints it's 21 & Wolfs 23 - VERY Good Wigan
And prices from Wigan from 18 to 24 being similar to their counterparts or cheaper in their age groups - But till the age of 24 - Very Good Wigan (Note : there are a couple of scenarios were it could be dearer for a Wigan fan if they aren't an existing ST holder and want to be New at around the 19/20/21 age - so maybe something to consider).
My 2 sons attend maybe 1/3rd of games (19 this year) and 2/3rds of games (22 this year) because of Cricket/Work/Uni commitments but I still buy their tickets because of the renewal prices
What the club have done with the U24's and OAP prices is fantastic IMO

| I'd echo whats been said earlier.
Great they've carried over the price to deduct two games for ST renewals, but that forgets the 4-6k lapsed ST Holders (above last years 4k covid levels) you would think they would want to entice back.
Full price for an adult is £347 on the sidelines - meaning you're looking at 26.69 per game (/13)! Where's the benefit of buying a ST and committing to all games up front for a 31p - £2 saving per game max?!
Even the early bird at £290 is not particularly enticing....Around £22.50 per game, giving you around £6 saving per game. So you're realistically getting just over 2 games free....Miss that with your holidays or game date changes (as most realistically would), theres literally no benefit in getting a ST.
I know latics are generally more desperate for fans, but compare that to a latics ST, which were sold at the rate of approx £10-11 per game.
I applaud them knocking off two games for renewals, but if they were looking at getting ST back up to previous levels the gap between existing (who would probably renew anyway) and new fans is far too much. £230 renewal price should have really been the offer to all new ST purchases before the end of January which would have possibly got us back up to 8k as there'd have been a meaningful incentive to renew.
Big opportunity missed IMO and i would be surprised to see us with more than 5k ST next year & latics style 8k gates, which is going to be pretty crippling for the club.

I agree about the "Full" price
But they are as cheap or cheaper in most areas compared to Saints/Wire and agree "New" prices who don't do the early bird are a bit steep, but no steeper than anyone else's who will have had the same issues. And once on the auto renewal or renewal packages it becomes very cheap imo
As for the Laticd analogy, yes 299 for sidelines on their renewal/early bird package is good and I'm guessing around 13 a game. But after that 369.
But ours at 195 for 15 a game is very good, renewal at 230 17.50 is good. As you say, jumping on the initial new bandwagon at a non early bird price is were it gets steep (but I'd bet they'll sell very few of them as most people will go early one way or another).
Latics junior prices are good, but they as well jump outside the early bird period
And I think our junior prices are better AND go up to 24 as mentioned previously
But
I'm guessing not everyone thinks so

It wasn't a presentation
And I'm not sure the club would be right to show comparison prices of other clubs.
I just did some research on what other clubs charge etc and compared them to ours before commenting
My post was basically showing my working out and the reasoning behind my thoughts
Maybe what I should have done is basically just said the prices are rubbish without putting any thought or logic to my statement? Doesn't appear you get questioned if you do that?

You are indeed correct, but like I have said, will they remain as low in 2023, especially if the club returns to winning ways next season, which is
all about getting the confidence of supporters back, especially with it being the 150th Anniversity of the club next season.
I wish the club all the best in their efforts to make it a triple trophy winning 2022 season!

We get that you and the other approx 4k are getting a great renewal price, but the question is really how the club entice the 4-6000 lapsed season ticket holders back. I respectfully suggest saying "we're cheaper than St Helens/Warrington" wont cut the mustard, nor will "part with £300 to see more dull rugby played by inferior quality players, even though they are local lads" work either.
We are 150 years old in 2022 and hoped to see that figure used somewhere in the marketing. I would have thought selling the south stand ones at £150 with full payment up front may have generated more sales.

| This is a really difficult conversation and probably indicative of where RL is at as a sport. As the old saying goes - if you win business on price, you'll eventually lose it on price.
The figures banded around (for all clubs) are cheap. If they are good value is subjective to the individual. I'm somewhere in the middle i.e it's a great price for a hour or two out, but I probably wouldn't pay £5 to watch some of the 'stars' being showcased in SL.
That being said, for what is the top tier of RL in the country, tickets should be a lot more expensive & season tickets should reflect that too. You can't win however. If tickets started at £28 for adults, you'll get people saying it's too expensive. By a way of a quick comparison, that's what I think tickets start at for Sale.
Ultimately and like I said in the opening line - if you price yourself as cheap, then that's how you'll be seen.

| Quote ="muttywhitedog"We get that you and the other approx 4k are getting a great renewal price, but the question is really how the club entice the 4-6000 lapsed season ticket holders back.
I would have thought selling the south stand ones at £150 with full payment up front may have generated more sales.'"
How are Saints/Warrington getting their 4/5k back ???
Are they reducing their tickets????

| A non-ST holder can buy a seat in the East or West for £290. Furthermore they can spread that over 9 months.
I presume we will play 14 home games next season (11 plus 3 loop fixtures) so that's £20 a game. Even if we play 13 it's only £22. Hell it's only £26 if we only play 11.
That's up to 5 free games according to the package.
We are hardly ripping people off are we??
If a fan of the club doesn't want to spend £35 (based on 9 month payment plan) a month to watch us then what else can the club actually do?

The moaners would also want a free return limousine to the games.

Although, can anyone remember whether [iall[/i games (inc playoffs) were included in the parking charge before the wendyballers started being awkward?

| Even with the good bargain prices, season ticket sales might not sell at the rate the club expects at the moment unless it makes clear to supporters what is happening about about the return of French from down under and the future of Hardacre as a Wigan player, the promise by Lenagan about one more signing together with what promotions will be made from the Academy, especially if Reserve rugby is to return.
The silence on what is coming out of the club at the present time is not helping as some supporters, especially those with families could be holding back from buying season tickets because of the Covid situation, getting near to Christmas and family incomes not being the same as they were a couple of years ago when things were normal.
The club needs to give out some positive and encourging news about what is happening, including what the size and compostion of the squad will be for next season and not just take it for granted that supporters willl buy season tickets without bothering about anything.

No longer buy a season ticket because of my age and health.
Yes, but only when I feel well enough to attend a game, which these days is confine just to home games.
Oh, and when you have been to as many matches and places to support the club over a period of fifty years in addition to the many other non Wigan games, then you can have a pop at older loyal supporters like myself.
Untill you reach the same age and level of health, I suggest you keep your opinion of others peoples supportt to yourself!

A simple no would have been enough.
And for the record can you please show me where I have had a pop at you or any of the other older supporters?
And i will continue to have my opinion as and when I want it, Like everyone else on here.
Fortunately for some the content is not examined before being approved. As some of the tripe would not be published.
