tbh as much as thats a joke it probably does help to be a ginge when coming through into a team particulary if you are playing well- what you are doing is far more likely to be noticed!

I don't understand how Liam Farrell being left out of the squad means that Maguire picks favourites etc. To me, it's good coaching, keeps Liam on his toes and makes him want to get back in the team. Also, it gives Chris Tuson playing time and builds up his confidence coming to the business end of the season when we meet need him.
I'm a big fan of Liam don't get me wrong, but if Madge see's that Tuson is a better option then I'm not disputing. Can't argue either, we haven't lost a game without Liam playing have we?

| Faz himself admits he'd not been playing well before he was dropped:
[urlhttp://www.wigantoday.net/sport/wigan-warriors/farrell_i_deserved_to_be_axed_1_3559341[/url
Quote Farrell said: “I had a decent start to the season but I got a bit sloppy halfway through.
“I deserved to be dropped, I’ll not deny that, and I’m going to try my hardest to get back in.
“It is a tough position because there are so many good players competing for positions, but I’m going to try my best.
“I’m still working on things to try and get better. I can’t just go off one game back, I’m trying my hardest to get back in regularly.”'"

| If you know your rugby and know what your looking for you will know why Faz has been dropped these last few weeks.
The guys is great with ball in hand and clearly runs the lines well. Have a close look at his defence and in-particular the way he goes about it.

| If Faz deserved to be dropped then Tuson deserves to be dropped as well. His defence has been sloppy at times, he's made costly errors and his attack can be almost non-existent. Defence is only one small part of the game, Faz's quality when it comes to running angles and his footwork among the forwards has been missed since Tuson took his place.

Faz doesnt always win the ruck!! What Faz needs and is being coached now is aggression in the tackle. Not being the biggest wont help, but the aggression is the problem.

from what i have seen of faz he is one of the best wrestlers in the tackle and was told by a certain someone that he is in the top 3 wrestlers in the squad so iv never ever thought winning the floor with him is the problem! Iv been told about the aggression in the tackle but whats that got to do with winning the ruck? the aggression (which i dont think i can be tought!) is for getting in and hitting the player harder in the first collision!

Madge has created a 'Tough Club'. Players who need to become rough and tough are given membership. The 3 founding members were Farrell, Roberts and Goulding.
All I know is that Madge has told the players they need to be tougher and rougher and rip in defensively. I presume that 1 to 1 coaching sessions on defence are a large part of this.

| Farrell is better than Tuson I don't think there is any doubt about that but Madge is doing a great job developing both of them. I trust his judgement.

I don't get this Tuson hits harder . So your telling me for example if faz makes 50 tackles and misses 0 and Tuson does 50 and misses 10 he gets the place because he s hitting harder sorry but I don't agree at all .

Gave away two penalties in Cas's half and knocked the ball on from a kick return after Hoffman's try which lead to the Ferres try/no try incident. All noticeable rrors which relieve pressure on the opposition and increase it on team-mates, things Madge won't stand for

| Farrell was the top tackler against Cas making 46 tackles and 12 marker tackles. Chris Tuson made 11 tackles. Tuson also made less metres although with slightly fewer carries.
Mistakes were inevitable considering Faz hadn't played a proper game of rugby for a while. He did pretty well considering his long absence from the team. In attack Tuson did nothing.

| I'm not saying that Faz is rubbish! Just that he made some mistakes on Wednesday that Madge will have picked up on. In fact Madge probably spotted a few that I missed lol

| Since the inclusion of Ryan Hoffman both Farrells & Tusons games have suffered a decline from last season. We have probably seen the full potential of Faz whereas we haven't seen what Tuson is fully capable of. My gut feeling is that Tuson is going to be a world class second rower/loose forward. However, playing Hoffman has caused a problem for the developing players. Winning matches and youth development is a hard balance to get right

| We dont see what happens in training, we dont see the assesments the coaches do, we dont see the players in the gym, there is obviously a reason why Madge is picking Tuson.

| I wouldn't say Faz had a poor game the other day, but he made a couple of early mistakes and didn't put in the kind of performance of someone who had something to prove after missing three games.

| I thought Faz looked off the pace. It was also noticeable that he was driven back in defence a lot and was arm tackling.
I still think he is the much better prospect compared to Tuson, but Maguire has a tough job in keeping his match sharpness whilst working on his strength in defence. Tuson is strong in the tackle but offers little in attack.
