For me though, the players know the consequences are the same, the treatment is the same, they should know better.

As for whether illegal recreational drugs and performance enhancers should be treated the same is a different matter altogether.

taking drugs whether for recreation or performance enhancing is ILLEGAL and he knew this before he did it so he must suffer the fate that is delt to him.

as much as i admire terry o his comments are a bit daft...educating the players about drugs......my 6 year old knows taking drugs is WRONG so why don't our players?

They get payed a ruck of money not to do drugs and only train a few hours a day.

And therein lies the problem. Spades of free time and rucks of money.

Well I can think of loads of better things than drugs to spend my money on if i had spades of free time and rucks of money

Whilst they are of the same offence ie taking banned substances, they are totally different in type.

Being off side and doing a mathers on king is a free kick, but they are totaly different offences.

Even by using performance enhancers, chambers was cheating, but he was really cheating by taking drugs that were undetectable. I know that doesnt really make sense, but thats just really dishonnest!

As if the man who blew the whistle on Balco handnt done so, Chambers and all their other clients, would still be cheating and winning.

Basicly what im trying to say is there are levels of dishonesty in all walks of life.

Tell you what tho...listen to rads talkin at about 12 minutes.....talks so much sense about younger players and the salary cap problems not letting you keeping on older players to guide them through! Think about players like mr hock.....would he have still been pee'ing about sticking things up his nose if farrell had still been hear? yet we have gone to a situation where a player like hock is now a senior player!

Wish all our players had their head stuck on like rads....future top class coach in the making IMO.
