That aside though, it is pretty fun if not-very-realistic. First of all, it's pretty much the end of '09 squads, so Wigan includes T.Smith, but also Gleeson. The ratings aren't great as you would expect from an NRL developer, Bailey is better than Gleeson at centre, though it's a RL game so technically positions pretty much go out of the window. The controls are also a bit strange at first (Nunchuck-controlled anyway).
In my first match I beat Leeds 10-6. First impressions were that it's quite impossible to play the old 5-drives and a kick routine and it's much more profitable to just throw it around anywhere. After injuring Peacock, JJB, Bailey and Lauititi, Leeds scored after Fielden of 09 naturally knocked on 20m from his own line. But I came back late in the second half with 2 good tries, Feka and Fielden combining brilliantly with 2 quick passes out wide sending Gleeson over in the left corner but I missed the kick so 6-4 to Leeds. Then the set after I just nailed it down field throwing passes everywhere, it must've gone to ground about 15 times and O'Loughlin touched it 5 times during one tackle passage. But in the end I broke Leeds down with Tim Smith rampaging through Leuluai and Senior to score under the sticks. Richards converted.
Anyways.. if you have a spare £40 or whatever it's definitely worth it. The game might even turn out to be a cult classic. Hours of fun are to be had on it, especially multi-player.
Btw, I thought I read somewhere that every stadium was included? Leeds' home ground is the KC Stadium and St Helens is Huddersfield. Nevermind..
edit: Oh and the whiny Aussie referee in the controller speaker is getting annoying. Can't find anywhere to turn him off..'"
Heard there was a delay on the release of the game (Mid April), where you get it?

So what controls/motions do you have to do to pass/run/kick etc?

(Using nunchuck + controller)
To run you just push the stick on the nunchuck around. There isn't sprint. At least I don't think there is. You just... run..
Flick the controller to the left or right to pass. Flick both nunchuck and controller to left or right to pass long.
To kick you hold down A to kick long then direct it with the nunchuck stick with flick the nunchuck upwards to kick it, or B instead if you want to do a chip kick. I think you can do a grubber aswell but I forgot how you do that.
You can also dummy, hold Z on the nunchuck and flick the controller either way. And you can shoulder charge/step but I forgot how you do those aswell.

Spot on.
Sounds reletively easy. A good way of sprinting could have been to use the nunchuck + controller and move your arms in a sprinting motion like the 100m dash on Mario and Sonic.
Can't wait for this to come out.

| 10th April according to Game in the White Rose. Aparently (for the 4th time in a row) the developers hadn't planned for the huge number of pre orders. They are having to make/ship more copies out.

Hi "MattyB"
Got one for my Grandson, from Manly nr Brisbane, on the 18th March, not tried it yet, only fly back to Manchester May 8th. the cost was 99 dollars, because we pre-ordered the game we received a Wii gamepad plus a showcase which includes, play and protect covers, graphic inserts for all 16 NRL teams, 2 reinforced wrist straps with sliding locks, plus 2 textured replacement battery doors, both these items retail at 19-99 dolars each, so I am well pleased with my purchase (so far!!!)

Very doubtful - the more likely date is the 16th April.

That'd be epic if they done that here. AU$99 equates to about £60 and I'd gladly pay 60 notes to get all that stuff with it

It's people like you who are harming the games industry. The same people who will complain about poor graphics, unrealistic gamepley etc. If people paid for games instead of downloading them then more money could be spent on development.

Don't know and don't care to be honest.
Either way, don't come on this messageboard accusing people without sufficient evidence.
Enough said.

Who are you to go jumping to conclusions? People like you as in people who possess games but aren't allowed to say how usually have a reason as to why they cannot say. It's perfectly reasonable to reach a considered conclusion that the reason is kept secret for a reason that may not be entirely above board.
Then again, I've not specifically accused anyone so i'm at a loss as to what the hell you are wittering about.

I will happily admit that I DID download it, and have played it just once so far.
As to your tripe about "people like you....." - I will also be buying the game !!!!!
Frankly, there are so many games that range from poor to downright atrocious, I feel no guilt whatsoever about downloading them, testing them, and then ONLY purchasing the ones that I will play more than once.
Some (most) games get no more than 5 minutes before they are consigned to the scrap-heap, which would be one hell of a waste of money.
Anyway - On to this game.
As I said, I only played once, and I used the alternative control-method of Wiimote only. (I'll be testing the Wiimote + nunchuck option over the weekend).
Controls are generally good and fairly intuitive - And there *IS* a sprint option (with the Wiimote-only, you hold down button "B"icon_wink.gif
Not seen all the stadia, but the DW looks superb.
Player graphics are generally very good (although as mentioned, Pat Richards looks more like Shaun Ainscough).
Team ratings are not accurate for this year, but then again we are a much better team than last year.
However, they are fully customisable, so you can rate Stains 1 for everything, and us at 100 if you really want to
I will say that you *REALLY* need to play this game on a composite lead (the 5-lead version, not the standard 3-lead).
The difference between standard 480i (blurred) graphics and Progressive 480p (pin-sharp) is phenomenal.
This game is the only reason that I bought the Composite lead, and it makes a MASSIVE difference.
(If anyone wants them, I bought mine from ebay for just £2.85, with free P&P, so no need to miss out if your TV can handle the input).
Final thoughts:
Buy it.
I will be, and I already have it and could play for free if I really wanted to, but it is so good that I feel the need to support Sidhe for the work that they put in.

Can only be a stock issue?? Is it on a similar slow boat from China as the 8inarow flag?
