It's a fact that every ST holder had chance to buy a ticket and either did or didn't buy one and Guess what?
There was enough tickets left meaning we didn't need a Loyalty system? Fact
Every non ST holder has had chance and still has chance to buy from St Helens and Wigan, if they haven't got one by now they probably don't want one? Fact
Anyone who complains that they haven't got a ticket 72 hours before the match that they haven't got a ticket will in fact probably be their own fault they haven't tried to get one 3/4 weeks earlier when EVERYONE had a chance to get one. Fact
The game still isn't sold out. Fact
Having any kind of loyalty system will not make the away teams give us more tickets. Fact
I could go on but Jeeeez your making me sound like rafa Benitez, See you are turning Rugby fans into the Football mentality! Job done!

I wish we did have football mentality, our stadiums might be full every week!
Were the hell have you got that I want away teams to give us more tickets from????? No. I have never said that all I have said is that people who have attended most games should be in a FIRST SALE and get the FIRST TICKETS for cup finals and big games. I suggest you go through my posts again. Your pointing out "facts" that I havn't even mentioned.

Lets put it this way, as Noble as your thought process is in that we Measure everyones "Loyalty" in a certain way and then we can line them up like School children and hand out the supposed "Best Tickets" to the most Loyal fan the evidence is overwhelming that everyone who wants a ticket in 99.9% of instances gets what they want bearing in mind the Limit that the away club or the RFL put on the number of tickets?
With that in mind and the potential overhead costs and other problems previously stated by myself, leyther Matt and i'm sure the club as well that the club would have to encounter by running such schemes is their any other reason to introduce such a scheme?

I'd also add that, if this is bearing in mind a cup final then there simply isn't the timescale to factor in varying amounts of 'priority' - it's tight enough as it is when for example there are only 5 days to sell x number of Grand Final tickets.

Also if you really want to go a Challenge Cup Final or Grand Final, you can buy tickets months in advance, so getting a ticket is never a problem.
When Rugby League starts getting as popular as Football then the loyalty scheme can be introduced, but until then there is no need for it.

Then my question to you would be, how does every football team in the premiership manage it?
Would there be a loyalty sceme if the Latics got in the FA Cup final? I think so.
So to add to Jukeseys comments, no, it wouldn't cost the club extra because the same system or similar will already be in place for Wigan Athletic.

Apart from the fact that you've picked the Most hypothetical situation in the World Ever! And even if they did would they ever sell the tickets! And that I'll bet you as much as you want they would just sell them to ST holder first and then General Sale etc
Is the same sytem in place now for WAFC (Question for Matt) because if there isn't a contingency for that "loyalty" rule to apply as it is now for WAFC would need to be in place at the start of the year or how could they use it?
Either way WAFC fans have to buy their tickets through the club due to segregation etc (That's Football mentality for you!) so they may have more records than we do.
Suddenly if our fans had to do the same thing instead of paying on the gate away from home and/or buying tickets from the home club then this would not only have a knock on effect as a cost to the club as they would have to staff it more etc etc. but also possibly reduce the number of fans who go to away games due to the problems in potentially getting those tickets pre game (And stop the pay on the day walk up).
Either way, I'm sure that yourself with your vast knowledge of ticketing arrangements and systems know far more than Matt who only works there?
Why don't you set up a thread asking people who wanted a ticket to put their name on it?
Then we can measure the need for this Loyalty scheme?
And before you say a loyalty scheme would allow those who've been to most games to get the "best" tickets remember the above re extra costs/time & effort to the club and then weigh up whether there really is a problem here that needs solving?

One thing you are missing out is the fact we already have a loyalty scheme. Season ticket holders get first choice. That is the scheme in place. It worked perfectly for this game.
The thing to remember when comparing rugby to football is that there are more fans wanting tickets for games before they even go on sale. 25-30k United fans apply for away tickets and I know it isn't far from that at Liverpool. When there is a cup final, there is a larger number of fans wanting to attend than there are seats, therefore a loyalty system must be used.
If we ever get to the point when we can sell-out a saints away allocation in minutes just from season ticket holders, then I'm sure we would have to start having some kind of ballot, untill then this system works fine.
A loyalty system is only needed when the demand is much greater than the number of seats. For this game, the GF 2010, CC final 2011.... it have been proved that is not the case. Therefore no loyalty scheme is needed.
PS- I wish it was needed!!!!

Cup finals in football have several weeks between the semi finals and final. When Latics got to the Carling Cup Final, there were 4 weeks to sell 25,000ish tickets. The Super League Grand Final has 5 days from the finalists being confirmed to when sales have to finish for any remaining tickets to be returned to the RFL.
I think you're going way out of the current scenario anyway in that season ticket holders had a full week to buy a Saints tickets and even any non season ticket holders who missed out this morning can still buy a seat through Saints. If games start to sell out on a regular basis to season ticket holders only then it will be a time to look at 'extra' loyalty on top of the existing season ticket priority but, let's be honest, that's not going to happen any time soon.

I like that.
Who puts most money into the club.
Season ticket, shareholders, Knights of Central Park (and money over the bar at the DW)
Could be fun.

Shareholders do actually tend to get priority for cup final tickets and the like if memory serves me right (although ordinarily most of them are season ticket holders anyway).

| People have taken what me and 21-12 were saying WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY out of context. We were simply trying to find a way of fitting 10,000 into 3,000 in the fairest way possible (like most football clubs do). Turns out it wasn't needed.
I'm sure it's a Wigan thing not to bother buying tickets until the last minute though, a nit like not seeing the last minute if we aren't winning.

| There are still tickets on sale. So the big panic about tickets selling out in the first week seams a little OTT.
The Saints website still have South and North stand tickets on sale, so no need to panic yet.
