Remember Will Carling? He supposedly turned down a £1 million deal from Leeds to stay in Union. The only trouble was Leeds didn't know anything about it.

Long will have talked to other clubs. But that doesn't mean they'll have offered him what he considers to be his market value. Wigan may have been one of them - after all, you'd expect us to at least enquire to see what he was asking. Doesn't mean that there's been some kind of amazing bidding war.

And seeing the speed it's been done at looks more likely that he will have snatched their hands off rather than being inundated with big money offers!

Especially when Long will be 33 in September of this year when Orford will only turn 32 at the end of April 2010.

Tommy Smith and Sam are all scrum halves, we need someone to attack the line at pace, come up with a chip over and score or something magic. Sam was miles better 2nd half on friday at first reciever organising the attack but it meant our other scrum half was stuck outwide with not a clue what to do, this is were we need someone to come in with a spark and touch of magic. We havnt replaced Trent and until we do we wont get near a trophy.
