Mate, you'll get no arguments from me about USENET being the correct medium for discussion, but I don't think you'll find it easy to educate the majority of silver surfers on the internet now about what usenet is or how to use it. I think the group actually does still exist as well, but it seems mainly to consist only of Craig Murray's dad's tipping competition and little discussion otherwise, it is a shame though, used to be an excellent group.

Morley played well, but should have been off towards the end for 2 proffessional fouls in 30 seconds.
Sam did nothing wrong except try to dislodge the ball, and it wasnt like he took a swing.
Briers should have been off for jumping in retaliatory style.
Wire played well..everything came off.
We played awful, every single player made mistakes.

I sometimes really question why I follow a sport that can be so pathetic at times, today we see an outcry over Hock giving somebody a "facial" then we saw silverwood asking for an 8 point try for Sam trying to stop a try with his foot!!!! Radders got a f**kin Lance Todd trophy for doing that 9 years ago!!!

If Hock is deemed to have been guilty of an offence, he will be rightly punished. Its not for all you keyboard warriors to drag his name through the mud before he has even been found guilty. Its not just the fans it is the media, we are not going to have a game if we continue to allow players to be scrutinised to the level that they are, the likes of Sam and Hock will be off to union in a shot if something doesn't change. Last week we had Sam slaughtered in the media for his V, something what Briers, Eastmond, King, Mathers, Myler and Widders have all done before him, yet when Sam does it its world news! some of the games leading lights then come out in "Defence" of him while using every possible way to kick him down even further with comments such as "some of it is brought on by himself"

We really could see it as flattery that they are scared to death of us re-emerging but to me it goes much further than that. I fear for our sport

Briers started a punch up due to Sams use of the foot. But Morley fair whacked Sam across the legs with a trip but hardly anyone noticed.

I'll be honest I aint read all 14 pages of this thread but I'd be very surprised if anyone would try and defend what he did. I was never Hocks biggest fan after his drugs ban, trying to ex-plain to a 9 year old why he wasn't playng buy would be again?? but as I kept getting told everyone makes mistakes, he deserves a second chance so yeah run with it.

Now he goes and looses his head like that, not a high tackle, not a hand gesture but a full on eye gouge and then to top it off a whack in the face - full on thuggery and not needed in our sport, certainly not our team!!

Hock looked like he meant business when he came on and made a try soring opportunity with an off load, as the game went further and further away from Wigan; Hock lost it in the worse possible manner, if you want to be the tough guy on the pitch throw in a few big hits like Leuluai. Leave the dirty stuff out of the game.

It is pathetic the amount of abuse our players get.

The disciplinary panel constantly screw us and I expect Hock to get dragged over the coals, not because of what he did but for who he is and who he plays for. All it was was a facial, not gauging, gauging is where you purposley stick your fingers into the eye socket with intent to blind, Harrison was fine after it, Hock merely touched his eye accidently whilst giving a facial.

I didn't expect to find any wigan fan actually trying to defend him, Im shocked.

To be fair I don't think he's actually TRIED to gouge the eyes. His fingers have ended up over the face and eyes and he's pulled the head back. He wasn't even looking at what he was doing. At full speed it's actually not all that abvious that anything has really happened yet the slow-mo replays look shocking.

Still, the whole incident was unsavoury and uncalled for and I fully expect a fine and lengthy ban.
