You are right, Leigh isn't the best place. Every time I visit Leigh I feel like Nicholas lyndhurst in goodnight sweetheart.

A mate of mine spotted a Chinese plate in one and paid £2 for it about 6 months ago.

He sold it on E Bay a week later for £6000.

He told me it was donated to the shop by someone from Standish who thought Leigh was an ideal dumping ground for tat.

Check the Leythers out having a jealous pop about our town. Ha, Leigh = one of the worst places i have ever been to. Im not saying it's rough but the window cleaners go round with a sander and you have to wipe your feet to leave the houses up there.

Cherry i know Wigan has many BAD areas , i spend plenty of time in Wigan , to much i probably know more Wiganers than you , i was there at St Judes last night , mi old mate Lol Lowe asked me to run a Fundraiser for them , and im there again in Hawkley Hall this afternoon , you cant kid a Kidder , Leigh is Paradise compared to some areas in Wigan .GET REAL .

I agree Wigan does have some really nasty places in its borough, Leigh, Plank lane, Higher folds & westleigh to name are a few that springs to mind.

Marsh Green has improved. I left my car there before the game, and it was still there after it !!

Even though I am a Leyther born and bred (and a Westleyther at that), moving to Birchwood in 1998 is the best thing I ever did !!! LOL

Birchwood - easily pleased there Snowy - its a sort of Holden Rd area ambience without the heritage. I also never thought anyone living in Birchwood would be proud of that fact

I thought all us wealthy Leythers lived in Pennington or Culcheth

Wigan and Leigh have a very similar housing mix, although I am informed council tax and housing arrears are far greater per head in the Wigan side

You lot who live in Wigan and Leigh should stop whinging and give a bit of thought to us poor devils who live in Atherton, especially on what is known as the Reservation (Hag Fold)

Warrington itself is not very good. Its just a huge concrete jungle. The part of Birchwood I live is full of parks and nature areas. Its a decent little Town in its own right. Padgate is just a concrete suburb of a concrete Town !!

Birchwoods a bit like Leigh really. Its by far the best place to live inside a Big Brother environment !!!

Matty i agree about the BEN , alot of our Family Parties are held there , we have had a couple of Hog Roasts there .
