Because he always takes every opportunity to knock wigan down. Just because his career was overshadowed by the greatest wigan team ever
One of the most bitter men to ever wear a British Lions jersey, still not over what happened 2 decades ago
No one is going to listen to him on here for this reason

Because unless he's got a crystal ball, he can't say who will or won't win the Grand Final in three months' time.
He's also wrong in that he predicted, with some measure of confidence, that Wigan would finish so far down the table that they might not even make the play-offs. Whether we finish top or not, I can guarantee that isn't going to happen.
So that's another reason why he's wrong. I'm sure I could think of more if I could actually be rsed.
Now why don't you do yourself a favour and stop defending the fat little loser.

| Surely a thread directed at the views of Garry Schofield isn't the order of the day? He may be right,he may be wrong we'll see at the end of the season. He's a pundit and is paid to give his views. Wigan have been the best side in SL this season but wasn't at there best against us on sunday.

| It's not worth reacting to the tripe that comes out of this moron's mouth.
Let's resurrect this thread come the end of the season and see where we are then.

Check the league table. How you can rule out a team top of the league with 9 games left is ridiculous.

| I'm afraid that he may have have something there, but i don't think it's anything to do with peaking too soon. I certainly think that we can come top of the table, but in the long term i just don't know if mentally, we'll be able to get over the finishing line. In a high pressure game like the Grand Final i think our inexperience might tell. My mindset hasn't been helped by the Leeds and Saints results...

Your recent results against both Leeds and Saints give credence to his view, irrespective of anyones emotive take on his view.
Not a tricky concept to grasp.
He is also that "stupid" he has elicited responses from wiser, all knowing arm chair fans.
Schofield by plenty.

He also said the same about Leeds in 2005.
Not that I like the guy or put any crededence to him, but he said back then that Leeds had peaked too early and would win neither trophy.
Unfortunately, he was spot on with that. He also got a bit personal with a couple of players which he has been shown up for.

All that the results against Leeds and St Helens show is that Wigan aren't quite the finished article yet. Both games were so close they could have gone either way.
Neither indicate that Wigan have 'peaked'.
Anyone who doesn't recognise that is as big an idiot as Schofield.

So warrington have lost to us, Leeds and Saints
Saints have lost to us and Hull fc
We have lost to Leeds and saints
Leeds have lost to us and saints
All the contending teams have lost against playoff teams this season. So by your way of thinking we may as well donate the trophy to charity

That's just the brand of "optimism" we've been fed on over the past few years . Don't worry, I'm sure it will pass come October when Lockers is hoisting up the SL trophy at OT

| Garry Schofield = Ian Millward
I don't think we need concern ourselves with what either of these gobes think, just get on with the job in hand.....1 match at a time.
Whatever Schofield writes in the newspapers is tomorrows chip wrapper unless of course you come from lobbyland, in which case it's cut into smallish squares and pinned up behind the outside bog door......come to think of it, can't think of a more appropriate use for a Schofield piece.

Apparently he was desperate to come to Wigan, but the club kept saying 'no'. Whether because he was asking too much money, or because they didn't rate him compared to the star three-quarters they already had, I'm not sure.
But this decision by Wigan ensured that he would never see much silverware during his career. Probably explains the pathological hatred towards Wigan that he's shown ever since.
Personally, I'd have signed him - but only on the condition that he first shaved off what was surely (and still is) the crappest moustache in the history of facial hair.
