I don't agree with playing friendlies against super league teams we should be putting money in the kitties of teams like swinton and oldham, i'm sure they would appreciate it more , look what happened at wire last seaon.

I dont know about that mate to be honest. I supose it would depend on what kind of teams they would both put out. I still very much doubt we would though. I am going to the Saints friendly but i dont think ill bother with any of the others this year to be honest. Leigh and Wire friendlys were just boring last year but to be fair made me really look forward to our first competative match against Wakey.... DOH!!!!

Four pre season friendlies does seem like a lot but I suppose MM will use every player we have from the first team right through to even some of the under 18's if needs be.

No doubt he'll want to see every player in action with the team getting more experienced players in it as the games go by.

Saints are charging £15 for the christmas derby. Or £12 if you buy in advance.

Would imagine one of the Leigh or Wire games we will field our academy side as surely we won't be playing our third game in a week come the first game of the season.

It won't be a third game in a week? The season starts February 5th and not the last weekend in January.

Only Leeds and Harlequins (and their opponents) play on 29-31 January.

Surely either the Leigh game or the Warrington one will be U21's?

Oh right. That's alright then. Still I can't see a full strength team playing twice within the space of a few days. Are we not contracted to play Leigh do I remember reading somewhere? If so, I would guess that would be the game where we field the youngsters.

At the Wigan end the bars had pre poured loads of pints of beer but everyone was buying coffee and hot chocolate and they ran out



That was a shockingly cold day to watch rugby.

I am very pleased we have a thorough pre-season programme in place. Last season we made an atrocious start to the season, which nearly cost Brian Noble his job, and we must look to really hit the ground running this year. Michael MaGuire will want to see as many players as possible in the warm up games right throughout the club & will want to try some new techniques, ideas and structures before the season starts. He will want to get a good idea of how good the players are and what works well and what doesn't before the season starts. You do not want to be finding out your squad half way through the season, like we did last season - Cameron Phelps being an excellent example. So the four pre-season games make sense.

I will be going to the Saints game and will try and get to the Leigh and Warrington game, but that depends on the squad put out. I don't fancy the Wakefield trip.

Yet again no HOME friendly all away and over priced you expect going off what saints are charging for what will be a u21 game.

Hopefully he will realise Leuluai is best at hooker... Mossop has potential in the front row... Farrell needs to step up now!.....Many players are out of shape (not too difficult).... it's not socket rience!

Can't wait for the saints away game, this will possibley be the biggest set of travelling fans for an away game!

Seems that the game at the LSV will be part of a fundraising event for the Hospice, so I'd like to think that your lot will send a strong side to help pull in a crowd for such a worthy cause.
