The problem for me is that we haven't signed a decent proven player for years and further signings of at best squad players doesn't float my boat so how is this going to attract new fans and more importantly new young fans?.
I'm tired of ineffective 15/20 props, minimal ball skills, zero kicking game, players who can play in multiple positions but can't play in any particularly well and atmosphere and the ground that is non existent due to pap on the field.
I don't expect all of the above to be addressed in one go but hells bells these deficiencies have been there for years.

How is Joe Greenwood not a proven player?

He replaced Bateman so for me doesn't count.
Who was the last player we bought and you thought wow what a great improvement on we have got?
I expected ZH to be quoted but again he is a replacement and is of significantly lower quality than the guy he replaced.

We have for me seen our squad decline in quality from 2013. I can't think of signing since sept 13 that has actually improved our squad

In reply to Grimmy, our 2013 squad was a decent squad and the talent has diminished since then. It has only been masked by Shaun Wanes ability to get his players up for games.

This is just nonesense. Dudson was nowhere near as good as Bullock already is and was gone well before Bullock came in. Escare did not replace Gelling who plays a completely different position. Tuson was long gone before Hamlin came.

My point is that we have been told there will be further announcements soon. I’m prepared to be patient and see what happens rather than spout the doom and gloom that most people on here spout. All I have seen is complaints that we haven’t announced anything and then complaints that we have. The club will never ever win with some on here.

We’ve been told a lot of things by the club over these past few months and everything has either been garbage or a pack of lies so yes your right they are in a no win situation.
But I’m afraid it’s all self inflicted as at the moment they can’t be trusted in anything they do or say. The connection/trust between the club and the fans is the lowest that I’ve seen and I’ve been watching them since 1979! The club have far more wrongs to right before I will don my cherry & white tinted specs again.

Either way, you and Grimmy could pick that post to pieces but the overall message is the 2013 squad had more quality than this years.

Not entirely sure they are all one for one re dates but I will try to reply to your pairs. Firstly though apart from maybe TL a list of mediocrety and utility players I.e. Jack of all trades and master of none. All signed I believe on your watch.
Gregson played about 3 games so I'm impressed with your memory. Yes you signed Hamlin a 13stone when wet through "middle" when we were desparately looking for a prop with size and who could do minutes. Unfortunately when your lad actually put a bit of physicality into his running your coach bollocked him for doing so.
Did we resign TL as a scrum half or was signed to replace MM? By the way Smith is the epitome of mediocrity.
Ah Escare. The only player in SL on £90k a year who cannot get a game when fit. Not really a fullback, can't play half back and pretty useless on the wing. Tierney although pap is a better use of the cap re how much he got paid.
Isa yet another allegedly utility player but if he has ever played centre I'm a Chinaman. Was Pettybourne a second rower?

Give over matey, no issues at all and I didn’t take anything personally. I suppose I have more sympathy for the club than most after the Edwards fiasco. I had an open and honest conversation with a friend in a senior management role at the club and was informed how badly SE had treated them. He asked for my continued support and it was abundantly clear that there is far more going on behind the scenes than most of us will ever know.
I trust my mate and I will continue to try at least, to see the positives when they arise. It should be clear to everyone that the club recognised the need to make changes and are taking steps to improve things. It won’t be easy and it may take time but I’m confident they’ll get there.

But, but, but, upgrades, Academy lads, inflation.

How have Wigan managed to put such an awful squad together whilst operating at the full cap? There isn’t even any star players in your squad. Whoever signs off on player contracts should be sacked!
