To start on the only positive I can take from that game is I can’t fault the players for effort.

I’m really disappointed with Isa. I’m all for aggression and getting stuck in but he lost his cool tonight. 2/3 matches for the shot on the floor on Welsby is deserved and he should have seen red.

Bentley really rattled us tonight, he reminds me of Bateman 5 or 6 years ago, he winds the opposition up and plays slightly over the line but not far enough to get in any real trouble. We fell for it hook line and sinker. One thing that irks me is how a player who stands up to a player who kicked him in the head gets the same punishment.

We can criticise the attack, halves or backs all we want but we go back to the same old problem of not having a platform to play off, with our current pack that won’t change. Hopefully the two coming in can make a difference.

This season is a write off, we need to look to build for next year now starting with the coach.

Abject surrender, going for two was the equivalent of running the white flag up, wouldn't mind if Saints were any good but they've fallen so far from what Holbrook had them playing and to beat us without breaking sweat is mortifying.
I might be wrong but I can't remember them making a single tackle within 10m of their own line, I'd say it can't get any worse but I wouldn't\t bet against it.

Wigan look like a bunch of mates who have decided to get together and have a go. Many of our young players have been asked to do far too much and are not yet ready for first team rugby.

It was damage limitation from the moment the game kicked off and all Wigan can do is go from side to side with zero penetration through the middle.

Listening to Lam after the game actually reminded me of Millward….a coach in complete denial.

Our so called "hardmen" are a joke. So so easy to play against. The Saints houses had us on toasf (with help from kendall)

That’s not a dig at Wane, it’s just not reasonable to expect the head coach to be involved in the talent id process.

‘Take aggressive action against’ is one definition and describes the incident very well. If I remember rightly dived on a player already on the ground and attacked with a swinging arm to the head. The ball had gone after the original tackle. ISA completely lost his head in thr match almost certainly due to frustration due to Wigan’s totally inept display.

If was so bad why not a red?
The ref obviously saw it so if was as bad as you say red would have been automatic and Isa would have been facing an 8 match ban.

I haven’t got Sky so I will have to wait until it’s on Wigan TV before I can watch it again.

I’m not particularly bothered if he gets a long ban as our season is over any way.

If it was bad it was bad but it’s not the end of world.

The one on Welsby was a disgrace. The ball was long gone, he was on the floor and defenceless, it was intentional and it was clear contact with the shoulder/upper arm to the face and head. Completely indefensible. Should grade E/F so whatever length of ban that carries.

He also did Grace off the ball after he’d played it, he did Percival with a shoulder charge after the ref had blown the whistle and did Percival in the face from the short kick off.

Utterly moronic performance.

I’m all for aggression and passion but it has to be controlled. Compare Isa to Morgan Knowles for example. He plays the game as hard as anyone but you’d never see him doing some of the cowardly stuff Isa does. And would Isa ever do this stuff on the likes of Knowles or Lees? Doubtful.

I’ve no idea why the officials did not take action. Everyone else, spectators, viewers, commentators saw it.

Isa should have been sent off. No question. The ref bottled it. And the appalling penalty count was down to Wigan players not the ref. This is the worst Wigan team that I have seen since the Millward era. Even the team that got relegated in the early 80’s played better than our current team and I supported them to the hilt home and away. But I don’t feel at all inspired to get off my couch to go and watch this lot. I don’t think that I can bring myself to watch them on SKY on Wednesday - Leeds will know exactly how to beat us. Its probably a little early to say that our season is over as we are still in the top 6 but it is looking increasingly likely that we soon won’t be. And I don’t blame Lam completely- he was dealt a bad hand by Leneghan and Radlinski - Edwards saw that 18 months ago, hence his decision to walk away. But, although I like the guy, Adrian Lam is clearly out if his depth and can’t even get the best out of seasoned international players. I expect changes soon or else we can say goodbye to any more trophies.

If I remember correctly the closest we got to the Saints line was off the back of two set restarts and we went for the conversion.

Don’t even get me started on that. I was furious at the time and still am now. Smacked of desperation not to be nilled.
