Exactly, we need to keep that continuity in the squad rather then seeing umpteen players walk through the door each year.

Tuson could be our JJB. He'll never be a world class player because his size will limit him but he's turning in to a fine superleague player that plays with heart, desire, aggression and above his weight.

If any Wakey fans are reading this thread I bet they're hoping it doesn't fall through! There's no better measure of a players ability then the reactions of the teams fans who that player is leaving.

It all depends on the value Tuson wants salary wise. Wigan will have a figure they think he is worth and that's what they should offer.
I like Tuson he's a hard working player BUT I don't think he's big enough if we also have Farrell in the second row. If Tuson is happy to be a squad player at Wigans valuation then I agree he could be worth signing. However bear in mind he will be 24 years of age at the start of next season so may not be able to go out on loan.

One factor that might have a bearing is Lockers' long-term future, depending on how serious his injury is. Tuson might have to cover at #13 until Burke comes through...

You cant keep them all and I dont think Tuson at Wigan justifies the salary that he can presumably get as a starting player elsewhere. He will always be a bench/squad player at best at Wigan and he doesnt offer anything that Farrell and Hansen dont.

Hansen and Lockers ghave missed big chunks of this year, that is why Tuson is invaluable. He has started a large amount of games this year and is a 1-17 regular. We must keep if we can.

Agree but I also think Hansen for all his fine defensive qualities offer little in attack, he rarely makes a break or even draws defenders to slip a pass.

Pettybourne next year may offer something a little different (assuming he plays at 2nd row) because it is needed at present

Defensively Hansen is second to none and worth his weight in gold. In attack he's very limited. In fact he's only got one move - cutting back inside. It's very predictable and means the ball generally has to bypass Hansen just to ensure it reaches the backs.

I think hes more likely to go to salford than stay with us, especially after they failed to sign hansen

The situation hasnt changed at wigan he isnt going to start many games

Wane has said in the WEP that its unlikely he'll stay at Wigan even if his Wakey move falls through. He says his heart is set on leaving and we have already signed replacements in Pettybourne and Hopkins.

He does say he's in talks with other clubs, I'd guess at a move to Salford or Widnes but he's the type of player I could see Huddersfield or Wire being in for. He'd face the same issues at those clubs as he would here though.

He's been a reliable, consistant player all season.
A good squad player, and that's what we need in order to rotate. It also keeps our other fowards on their toes, knowing that when their form dips, that there's someone capable of not only filling in, but taking over, their place.
Providing we're not talking (nor he expecting) 'silly' money, then we should give every effort to retain his services.

Surely Pettybourne will go straight into the 2nd row with Hansen?
Farrell may go to the bench with Hopkins, he can play prop, 2nd row or loose.
Tuson may well depart and I'd fancy Widnes as a likely destination.

Unfortunately there is a 'grain of truth' in that viewpoint.

Can't see him pickling up a starting spot at any of the top 8. If he wants to start he's better at Wakey, Cas or Widnes. Problem is any of those three could realistically be in the Championship after next season. He might be better staying at Wigan and improving some more but if he wants to go then he wants to go

Was at last nights meeting and if Chris wants to come to Wakefield them his deal and terms are the same as before as our chairman said. The part which we have come clean on is our squad is now less two which can be easily replaced and we have 2 more signings yet to announce.

Whereas Hull would only offer a flat tyre



I remember chatting to Toa Koa Love a few years back just after he left Hull. Said he went back to empty his flat and got his convertible roof slashed to bits by some disgruntled fans.

I hope Chris stays here, I would love to see him develop and take his chances so he can't be left out of the team starting line up.

Always wanted to see Chris given time and a run out more as a 9. He often played at 6 when younger, so he clearly has the hand skills to be more of a ball player, combine this with the tackling and hard work he puts in as a SR.

Granted 9 is a difficult position to learn, but I think he could have the potential.

Would hope if you resigned him he could have a season on loan with us getting some 80 minute game time and regular starts. This could be mutually beneficial for both clubs. We could do it with a few players from your squad as think you may sign a few more experienced players at the end of the season thus giving some of your younger players to gain first team experience elsewhere.
