I guess we took around 35-40k to the grand final so you would hope people would pay the same or a little more to come to a bigger game closer to home!'"
I for one will be.
As expensive as it will be, I want to be near as possible to where I usually sit for it. I'm not expecting it be less that £40 for the Silver section of the East Stand.

| Quote ="Rogues Gallery"The Grand Final is the qualifying match for the WCC.
Some people paid £60 for the Grand Final, so £40 for the BEST seats is not unreasonable. It should hopefully sell out and I just hope that we get a chance to purchase our normal seats. All seats will be reserved so it could be ground record
Wigan will get a share of the receipts (I'm not sure of the percentage).
I'm sure details will be revealed shortly.'"
Did fans pay £60 a ticket for the grand final? Yep they sure did, but that match was being staged at Old Trafford and it was a full days outing. A day out round 'Wiggin' town centre just isnt the same. Just look at the what happened in 1992 when we put the prices upto £15 from just £10 for game V Broncos, we were suitibly embarrased to get 15K on that night.
The [u REALITY[/u will be exactly the same as the embarrassingly low play-off attendances im afraid.
If what is being rumoured is true ill go for a 18K max crowd.

Only need 1 win from 3 games to go through, cant see it being a problem.
As for the prices, The RFL price them how they feel is right (despite the fact they arent, and never sell out!) All that will happen imo, is less Wigan fans will go to Cardiff to pay for the WCC game.

The reality IMO is that any real fan will ensure they are at this game if they can be.
£40.00 for a superb seat at a WCC game is great value if you ask me.

| £40 for the biggest club game on earth is hardly unreasonable but part time fans will not pay that and therefore probably won't go. This game deserves a sell-out.

Reet then youre agreeing with me that theres no way well have 25K on. Please tell me since we've been at the JJB/DW when have we EVER had 25K home fans in attendance, even at normal price the nearest weve come is a few 18-19K V Stans, Wire and Leeds.

What a stupid argument.
Obviously we could NEVER have had 25K home fans as the North Stand is normally reserved for away fans.
There will be enough people willing to pay £40 for the best seats, they pay £60 at Old Trafford and Wembley.
There will also no doubt be Saints, Wire, Leigh fans etc wanting to see us get beat (the more the merrier IMO)
The Wigan season ticket holders who normally sit in the more expensive seats MAY chose to relocate to cheaper seats, but it's my guess, that after so long without a WWC game many will chose to pay the premium.
Let's face it many of them pay that much for a night out in town.
Lets wait for confirmation of dates, stadium and pricing schedule and do a poll.

Woooo hang on a minute here Roguesy baby. "We could NEVER have 25K home fans" " Normally reserved for away fans", Ermmm well why couldnt we have had the North stand for the Bradford game when we were actually presented with the trophy? If the demand had have been there they would have opened it, what about the Quins games were the North stand was opened for home fans? Point being you stated we could NEVER have had 25K home fans, well YES we could but the demand just isnt there.
As a previous poster puts it "any REAL fan will want to be there" trouble is we don't have 25K REAL fans, we have around 12-14K die-hards and 4K that will turn up for 3-4 games per year, and around 10-15K that like a good day/weekend out. Rollocks to neutrals I certainly don't want them in the ground they add nothing to the occassion or atmosphere and in some/most cases distract home fans from watching the game.
As Ive said previously fans have paid £60 for a seat at Old Trafford but the occassions are completely different. Ones a day out/weekend away in a big city, sitting in one of the best stadiums in the land, watching a game that whole season depends on. The other on is in Wigan, at the DW, in a one off clash. Wigan fans have previous on this and theres no reason to think any differently about the forthcoming game.
I know of people that go to the Magic weekends but don't attend a home game all year round.
There are alot of hopes and wishes about the WCC game but if the RFL impose their bonkers pricing structure to this game THERE WILL NOT BE A FULL HOUSE!!!!

Got to agree. There'll be 15000 who'll pay top prices but beyond that we are at the mercy of pricing structures. I went to the Grand Final with 8 family members who don't normally watch Wigan live. They would class themselves as Wigan fans but in reality they follow the results, watch em' on SKY, talk about em' in the pub and go a game once every blue moon. They all loved Old Trafford and I know that some of them would go to the WCC, IF the price was right. I know now that prices above £35 will turn them off whilst they'd probably go for £20. Call em' tight, call em' fickle but I know loads of people will know Wigan 'fans' like this and getting them on board is the difference between 15000 and a full house. Unfortunately, the RFL are running the show and to use your phrase (which is still making me chuckle) they are as numb as a P!$$ stone and will charge top whack.

| This is what Wigan RLFC marketing should do:
Anyone who purchases a Wigan RLFC season ticket get's a 33% off ticket price voucher for the World Club Challenge Final.
=#BF00001) Will give "real" (those who regularly buy ST's) fans the chance to purchase the final tickets at a reasonable price, thus realising a much larger gate....hopefully a sell-out.
=#0000BF2) Gives the Wigan RLFC season ticket some additional 'added value' to it's current offer.......it may just sway an extra few thousand who are currently undecided to part with their cash (especially over the excellent 4 payment scheme) for a season ticket and increase them to 12k+.
Two birds one stone....!!!

| I'd be very suprised regardless of pricing if this game didn't sell out.
From my own point of view if the game had been in Australia I was ready to price it up and do my upmost to make it over there so £40 for the best seats in the house will be one heck of a snip!!!
I know we don't have 25,000 people of a similar mindset but still.

I can't see many people forking out hundreds on a season ticket who won't already to save a few quid on a WCC ticket.
