| The biggest factor is the loss of Tickle's goal kicking. I await the mandatory appeal news first though.

I think your under-estimating your team a bit. You played well enough against KR without your star 3. Are Calderwood and Whiting really that big a loss? Calderwood seemed dodgy to say the least in the derby. Tickle would be a blow, especially due to his kicking but he may get off yet.

Tickle's banned for the game, Calderwood's not such a loss though he is our only specialised winger. Whiting is a huge loss for us, he's arguably been our best player this season.

It means we go back to washbrook at 6 and a prop at 13 which doesnt work for us at all....Whiting would have played fb and Tansey S/O....Whiting will be a big miss as he reads the play superbly and is very under-rated...Agree with Tickle, its the Angles he runs as well which will be a big blow.

Maybe a half-back from your 20's could come in to avoid messing the structure of the team up?? Whiting has rarely had a bad game when i've seen him play, just lacks a yard of pace IMO.

Nicklas has been called up before and he is a 6 but was played in the centre????Williams we dont feel is ready...we may put Berrigan there to keep the changes to a minimum and Hall will play as he is the only kicker left.....agree about Whitings pace...he gets loads of interceptions in a season but has never finished one off yet...but he is 100% and wish we had more like him....i personally think he is a 13.

Some of you Warrington fans amaze me with your hypocrisy. Yes, it was a late challenge, but Myler wasn't hurt.
Let's turn things around. What about Carvell's challenge on Sam - Sam didn't even have the ball. You can't tackle/take a man out without the ball in rugby - although you can in American football! How cowardly/unexpected was that for a challenge? Worthy of a sinbinning or fine or even suspension?!!
By the way, what do you mean by a "melodic hit"? Were you trying to say "pre-meditated"?
And there are 2 "e'"s in "committee"! You should have been taught that at school!!
I presume "beyong" was a typo.

| There was nothing at all in the Carvell incident on Sam imo after watching it again. As for the Joel incident i've got to say it was abit silly and he probably can count himself lucky not to be sitting Friday night out but then guys have got away with worse this year and it's typical of the RFL.
The same identical incident could happen with 3 players. If we use Cunningham, Joel Tomkins and a player from one of the leagues lesser lights for example. If Cunningham did it he wouldn't even be sighted, Joel would cop a fine and the player with the lesser profile would get hit with a game ban. It's sad that it works that way but it really does.
Theres a few players in superleague that are untouchable for some reason.

Totally agree. KFC, Peacock and Morley being the top three!
And trolls, please don't start on again about Lockers' challenge on Luke Robinson!

There was a post on other Wigan forum by cherry.pie who listed Morely's record over the last few seasons. It is such that if he ruffles the other props hair he ought to get banned.
JT wil have got away with the fine because of his past record which compared to Morely's (who always seems to get away with it), is squeaky clean.

Don't really know that much about American Football! I was referring then to players being "blocked" rather than "tackled" without the ball. Call it what you will, Carvell "came into contact" with Sam who didn't have the ball.
What annoyed me was the cumulative nature of these Warrington high tackles/late challenges ( 5-6, I think) in the 1st 20 minutes. Silverwood should have sinbinned a Warrington player when it got to so many. Didn't he sinbin Joel against Huddersfield (away)for repeated team offences - although that was for holding down, I think.

Would that be Morley's record of citings? I'm sure that out of about 20 or so citings it has been found to be "no charge" in about 17 incidents. I'd say that certain referees penalise and cite him on reputation (which seems to be the same with opposition fans).
Interesting one of the two times Morley has been found guilty was for a late flop - he got off with a fine. I assume that this board would agree with that sanction for such an offence?

Or maybe refs did see some bad challenge/high shot/malicious intent, but the RFL decided to show leniency towards him as - they have done in the past year or two, together with the likes of Jamie Peacock. ( GB glory boys - both coached by Tony Smith)
Yesterday someone quoted Ben Westwood's harsh ban (5 games) last year. I agree with that and don't regard Benny as a "dirty" player.
Unfortunately, I don't think the same of Morley and never have done. My first memory of him is when as an 18 year-old he almost took Sean Edwards's head off when Wigan were hammering Leeds in the 94/5 season. Then the appalling head high challenge in the first 10 seconds of the test v Australia when Ganson sent him off. Unfortunately, mud sticks, but I don't believe he has been totally innocent these past 2 seasons despite escaping a ban! I'd love to know how much the Wire fans were calling him 10 years ago when he was presumably dishing it out to Warrington players while playing for Leeds - just as you ( rightly) laid in to Mathers 2 years ago for that horrendous challenge. Now you all seem to love Mathers....!

refs dont cite do they, thought the RFL did after eviewing the game.

you can take a man out as long as you dont put your hand on him and use the shoulder in the NFL, as when you use the hand it becomes pass interference. You can only use your hands to block to push not to grab in the line of srimmage.
