It makes me giggle when a player gives the crowd some stick.
Matt King was getting dogs abuse of a large proportion of your fans and i would image some of it was a lot worse the sticking the V's up. Yet when it does happen, all of a sudden it becomes a horrendous and vile sin of biblical magnitude.
People need to get a grip and stop being so bloody precious.
I cant blame Lee Smith, Briers, King, Sam and the hundreds of sportsmen who have given moronic fans some attitude.
Judging by some of the ridiculous knicker wetting that is going on, and the sheer nasty bile that this minuscule "indecent" has brought up, i would go as far to say that some fans deserve getting told to Foxtrot Oscar. |

Quite a few Wire fans I have spoken to don't think he will get banned as it has happened in the past and not been punished with a ban. Not saying he shouldn't get a ban and neither are they but its harsh to ban Sam when none of the others where banned.

Agree with that and it was incredibly stupid, we cant defend him for what he did. I do think there has been a massive over exaggeration with this though, but that's to be expected when its Tomkins. But is has happened many times in the past and all those went unpunished. |

course it can be defended. You push someone hard enough and they will retaliate. Lets face it, Sam's had a bulls eye painted on his head all through this season, for players and fans a-like. His only saving grace is that he knows we love him. Even then, there's some in our own ranks who dislike him and think he's "not good enough to play for Wigan".
Would anyone have said anything if it wasn't caught on TV? Nope.

| He's heading for a ban if the RFL diciplinary are consistent. This is what they said at a previous hearing : ' Whilst the panel can understand how the provocation implied may lead a person to react in the way in which you did what you must understand is that you are a high profile player in a high profile match and you are a role model to hundreds of youngsters in the game. This was an ugly incident . We therefore cannot overlook this incident.'  |

the article is very good,
and brings out an important point about respect,
he needs more respect, as much as the wigan fans hated longy, whenever he played for england we all got behind the team,
sam seems to get abuse when on international dutry, discusting,
all the players deserve more resepct, and sam more than any,
this whole thing, and with the crap media, and dissapointing bias on the tv, leaves a massive sour taste about the final,
