| Who knows?! What a mess and only one full round in to the restart. I see on social media some of our players going about their daily life’s visiting restaurants and pubs and that’s fair enough. They seem to be following the government rules but the government rules are about getting the economy going and they won’t protect players from catching the virus. One positive test has a huge knock on effect.

Well it isn't is it. The sport needs to react to this calmly, not with panic and over reaction. This was always likely to happen at some stage - just a shame it's happened this early and to this many players. There will be a quarantine for the affected clubs and those who can play will continue to play.

| If you compare this to how the England cricket team are operating and it's chalk and cheese. If the players want to play then they can't carry on like you and I because the situation is completely different. I thought that was kinda obvious by now.

| You only need to look on social media to see Wigan players out in Manchester City Centre and then on the VT people were saying Saints players had been out in Liverpool (weird that coz I thought they were perfect), Leeds players out and about and Blake Austin went and celebrated Liverpool’s title win down at Anfield with thousands of others. So basically players from all clubs look to be just cracking on with pretty normal life’s but it’s not normal times and they’ve not got normal jobs. If the players as a collective group want the sport to survive and they want to carry on earning a living through it then even more sacrifices could need to be made than they’ve already had to.

| I am more inclined to think that the spike at Hull FC has more to do with the players like those of Celtic doing something outside the lockdown regulations rather than playing in the game against Salford.
The question is "where they not tested prior to the game and if not, why not"

I agree. If I remember correctly, the NRL got going early again because all the players and their families retreated into isolated training camp situations. That was a superbly professional response to the crisis, and it paid off, leaving their season with only a minor disruption.
Is it really beyond us to do something like that over here?

The game can’t afford it according to Matthew Shaw from the league express and also they thought it was a big ask of the players after they’d taken pay cuts, to then be asked to stay away from families.
If we can’t do that I’d at least be asking that the players try and keep their interaction with the general public to a minimum. I see our lads on social media posting mixtures of them out socialising and they’re not breaking any government rules by the looks of things but it’s not going to help.

| The game can't afford it. Wow.
Can the game afford to see the plug on the 2020 season pulled with the fixtures only a third complete?
Because that could be the outcome if there are any more outbreaks like this, and there will be if the players, training staff etc. aren't put into some form of semi-isolation.

I read earlier that the Hull and Salford players used the main changing rooms at Headingley and they were then cleaned during our game and then used by the Leeds and Saints players. It’s pretty staggering that IMO and if we can’t even get each team an area to change in that is exclusive to them, what hope have we got of them sorting out hotels and the like. Just get some cabins on the car park or set up an area under the stand FFS! It’s beyond belief. Unless things change with the rules and the attitudes of players I can’t see us completing the season.

It may be even worse than losing this one season. I know it's a lot to ask of players who've already taken pay-cuts, but people need to get real. Generally speaking, our lads earn very well, But I wonder where a lot of them would be (or maybe WILL be) without professional RL? I honestly believe this is that serious.
All day today I've spoken to people who've reported seeing SL players out on the lash in the evenings, often exercising no social distancing. This really has to stop. It's only for four months or so, but it's could be a truly vital four months in our game.

| There isn’t any more room for outbreaks such as this, the players need to look at themselves and ask are they up for the sacrifice of no social life?
The sport did itself no favours with not having any room to allow for this to happen,it should in my opinion gone on to mid December, yes I know about the contracts etc but these are strange times so surely a little common sense could have been applied for another month or so?

It's the World Cup that is partly causing the issue. They don't want any knock on effects to next season as the World Cup can't be delayed

At this point who's to say the World Cup will even be played?
Its not to far a stretch that crowds might not be allowed back Inso they going to run it behind closed doors?
Like I say these are uncharted times and to dig your heels and block off a period of time with no plan b is utter madness.

| As someone who is an amateur coach and having had to jump through so many hoops to get my lads back training (with great success I may add!), I’m actually hoping this could turn out to be a positive for the game in the current climate.
It obviously not ideal in the short term however looking at the bigger picture if at the end of their quarantine period all the Salford lads return negative results then it highlights that actually playing the game is low risk in relation to transmitting the virus.
I’ve a suspicion as to why the Hull Club are keeping things under wraps on who has tested positive as i think it may be a group of lads and their families that are naturally drawn to each other off the pitch. Just a suspicion though nothing I’ve heard.

| All the Premiership and Championship clubs played all their home games on their own grounds without any problems.
Our game is only playing fixtures on just three grounds with more than two teams using the same dressing rooms and already we are having problems.
Why are we not playing games like football?
Because Sky Sports do not want to move their equipment from ground to ground and double headers suit their own agenda where costs are incurred.

There's more chance of having crowds at the world cup than there is in mid-December as you're proposing. I think realistically plan B is fixture re-scheduling as we saw this weekend, plan C midweek fixtures if we have a backlog, plan D probably cancelling the Challenge Cup to free up some weekends, and plan E would be finishing this season early. I agree with that approach rather than prolonging the season further than we already have, and causing impacts onto next season by doing so. If we have to postpone so many games that we needed to go into mid December then I'd also argue it's not safe to carry on.
This season is a mess but right now I'd say there's some hope we can have a normal 21' fixture list. We definitely won't have that if the '20 season runs into mid December. Not to mention the fact you then start getting into frozen pitch issues.
