He'll find it tough to get back into the first 17 in time for the WCC now, bet he's not happy. Shouldn't cause too much disruption to the team though, it's our strongest position.

Was always going to be Hoffman and Tomkins starting IMO.

I hope these two injuries before the season starts are not a sign of things to come!

We had 4 out for most of last season on a rolling basis some came back others went out

Assuming Gleeson, Sam and Fielden return before the season starts (which I think they're meant too to be fair) I suppose this is the problem with the notoriously hard pre-season we have. It might have been great when we had a new coach coming in with fresh ideas and everyone's eager for a new start but year on year it could prove to be draining. The pre season isn't long at all when you get to the final, have lots of players in the four nations, then need to hit the ground running for the WCC, time will tell.

I heard Fieldens having an operation, so dont know how serious that is. Or what the operation is for, it could be lazer eye surgery for all i know.

Shows the squad depth we have. Charnley will do a great job, still not sure about Marsh defensively mind. But if most other sides lost 6 from their starting 13 they'd be struggling big time. Not sure we will be.

And therein puts the debate to bed on the other thread who has the strongest depth in the league. Take any 6 out of Wire, Leeds and Saints of their first choice 17 and they would be struggling big time.

That's correct but we are not playing SL opposition this weekend in the middle of the season and in the meantime we should have Sam T, Gleeson and possibly Fielden back by the end of Jan as per the official site this week. (Hopefully).

Every time Hansen starts to pick up his attacking game he seems to get an unlucky injury. He showed good form towards the end of last season and I was looking forward to see how his attacking game developed more this season. Hopefully when he returns he will be able to pick up from where he left off.

Not sure that team would be "struggling big time", I'd fancy it to beat the Wigan 17 named above. Certainly the three-quarter line offers considerably more threat and fire-power.

Yet still, one injury to Briers and you would struggle to beat a top 4 team.

Agree about Marsh. He's yet to prove himself for me. I'd have rather kept Pryce in our squad and sent Marsh to Quins

It depends what the thinking was when they made the move. I assume they decided Pryce and Charnley both needed lots of game time this season with a view to one of them taking over the 4 shirt from Carmont in 2012 (Marsh surely out of the running), most assumed it would be Charnley who got sent out but they have opted for Pryce. I think short term it could be the wrong decision because I think Pryce would do the better job on the wing while Richards is out but long term a move away from the boo boys at the club and regular super league rugby for Pryce could prove to be the right option. He'll surely get a fairer crack of the whip from the fans if he impresses at Harlequins.

But if you look at the players missing for Wigan, would you still be confident of beating that Wigan 17? I think I know where my money would be.

It could be that Marsh still qualifies at U20 level, whereas Pryce doesn't so it allows another squad player over 20 to play in the U20 side.

But the players you have chosen are nowhere near as vital to the Warrington team that the Wigan players currently injured are.

Richards- Best Winger- (Atkins or Monaghan, debateable which)
Finch- First choice half back (Briers)
Fielden- Best prop last season (Morley)

There really should be some kind of ban on this, it's such a boring cop out. It goes without saying that we all think Mike Maguire has done a brilliant job so far, and I think this will turn out to be a smart move, but it would be a pretty boring forum if we didn't form our own opinions.
