| Last season I seem to remember an argument about who is better out of hall and charnley. I think last night has just settled that. Not for one minute saying charnley is but I'm glad with have hall. Another great game. I can't wait to see the teams meet with full strength teams out.

| Charnley was poor last night, probably his worst game in a Wigan shirt. As an all round player Hall probably edges it, but for pieces of individual brilliance (i.e Charnley v Warrington Challenge Cup QF) Charnley has the edge for me. Its a tough one really, both can be exposed defensively IMO.

Hall's wonder try v Australia tops that one, for me. Plus, I don't see Hall as being one that the defence goes at.

| Hall is one of the best wingers in the World if not the best. He's solid in everything aspect of the game.

| They are both class players and IMO different type of wingers, Charnley is more about speed and skill and Hall is more about power and brute strength. Not saying Charnley isnt strong or Hall isn't fast, just highlighting their strengths. Should be wearing the 2 and 5 shirts for England at the end of the year. Beats the days of Tony Clubb and David Hodgson However Ben Cockayne may push them close

| Ryan Hall is the best winger in this league by quite a distance. Anybody who can't see that is either biased or not watching.

| I do wonder how good Briscoe would be at a winning team. I think he has the best points of both Hall and Charnley.

| Charnley could be as good as Hall one day but he's certainly not yet. He had a poor game last night and isn't having a great year to date IMO.
I think he's suffering from the chopping at changing in the back line tbh.

It's swings and roundabouts in one-off games. Wasn't it the league match at the DW early last season where Charnley danced round Hall for a hat-trick (should have been four but for a harsh obstruction call)? Hall is the better all round player at this time, especially in the air (on attack and in defence).

True enough and probably a sign of Charnleys great form last year compared to this that he could totally destroy such a fantastic player as Hall in that game.
He'll find that form again i'm sure as Goulding settles back in to his role at right centre. I think Boston, Offiah, Robinson etc would have struggled to make much of anj impression with Jack Hughes as their centre tbh! I know he was inside Thornley last night but he again proved he's about as much of a centre as Sam Tomkins is a prop forward.

If we lost Hall, arguably the best winger on the planet at this moment and replaced him with Charnley who is still potentially very good but not quite?
Yes, I would be gutted.

That wasn't the original statement though. Who said anything about a direct swap? He said if we signed Hall (ie added him to our squad which includes Charnley) OR Leeds signed Charnley and added him to their squad (which includes Hall) then neither would complain.

If that was the original statement, then it really didn't merit a post. Talk about stating the obvious.

I don't think Charnley's better than Hall but he's obviously very good. There are 3 better wingers in Super League tops

| Without sounding biased here, I have said for the past 2 to 3 seasons that the best two wingers in world rugby and in either code too are Brett Morris and Ryan Hall, I still haven't seen anyone better this season either
I like Josh as a winger too though and I do believe that he has so much more potential and improvement in his game which is still to come, so you've got a cracker there too

| Hall is a better over all player, but Charnley can (usually) find the try line and is a better finisher.
Love to have Hall at Wigan.

Not having that.
IMO (atm) Hall is better than Charnley at all facets of the game. Except maybe speed off the mark. (And goal kicking probably)

| I like the look of Lineham at Hull (another Leeds lad). He's a bit raw and has a lot to work on defensively, but with his speed and size I can see him developing into a world class player in a few years.
