A massive well done to our boys. Our defence and effort was fantacstic tonight. Yes we didnt win, however the effort was superb.

Go with the same attitude in defence next week and we stand a great chance of going to wembley.

But two points. Neither did Saints. The conditions clearly played a part.

And secondly it would be bizarre to suggest our boys don't deserve credit for their defensive effort tonight.

I dont think it was down to having no cutting edge but more the fact that we spilled the ball or made an error everytime we had a chance to score. We had plenty chances to score in the first half but came up with an error.

Saints the so called entertainers had no more cutting edge than us. With the amount of field position they had they should of easily won the game.

I will give you one post of retort as I haven't seen you before.

It did tonight.

It was a great game tonight great defense by us and by saints. The effort in bad conditions was superb by both sides. I know we lost but its one game that i have not come away disappointed if we play like that next week it will be a Wigan V Saints final in the CC

I can't see anyone claiming effort and defence somehow magically give you a cutting edge as I write this.

Although Flanagan had a very good game, his botched pass after the break in the first half did prove to be costly.

It was a nip and tick game, though - it was going to come down to a small error here or there.

I wouldn't be too hard on anyone as a result!

from a neutral point of view i thought it was a great game to watch, tense and some superb defending.

Just got in, did he botch it or did Wellens fluke a hand to it.

Flanagan & Mossop both played well beyond their years tonight.

The players that had poor games were Roberts & Joel.

We just didnt get the bounce of the ball we needed, but our defence was heroic, Bailey or Lockers would have made the difference tonight.

I am over 50 and been watching since the 60s

You cannot compare the 2 in the 80s and 90s we nearly sent the club out of existence with the money we paid our players in wages and win bonuses. This modern game we are limited in what we spend so have to have players that are not in the same class as then and the sooner others realize this the better. Was a great game tonight i am soaking wet but not despondent like when i came away from Bridgend

Think the conditions played a big part tonight in keeping the score down and giving Saints the chance to steal it. Given the amount of breaks we made in the second half, with a bit of luck and composure we could have had the game wrapped up, but the slow track certainly helped their slower cover defence. We tried to force it a bit too much for the conditions when in the lead and kept giving them chances with our resultant errors, it was inevitable that eventually a bit of luck or a missed tackle would let them in. Nevertheless a big effort - it just wasn't our day unfortunately, but we can take some positives (i.e, S Tomkins running the show and Mossop looking one of the best forwards on the pitch). Hopefully we will learn lessons from this experience for the next time we have them in a close struggle.

It is those fans who give wigan a bad name, they think they are still in 1992!!!!!

I am a season ticket holder and what i want from my team every week is a performance that us 110% committed with every player trying their best.

I think the majority of the boys ran their blood to water tonight and there was no shortage of eefort.

Wigan have no devine right to win, albeit if you spoke to our friend above you would think they do.
